We saw a massive title change at WWE NXT’s Great American Bash. Kendal Grey is the new NXT Women’s Champion. She defeated Lola Vice to become the Champion. Vice is a phenomenal competitor and defeated everyone in her way, but Kendal Grey caught her at NXT Great American Bash. What’s next for Lola Vice?
While the Women’s NXT Title may have changed hands, Tony D is still the NXT Champion. He walked into Great American Bash with his eyes set straight on Naraku. Or should I say his eye was set on Naraku, as he walked into the show with his eye still covered from the fireball Naraku surprised him with. It was a brutal match between the two, but ultimately Tony D walked out with the gold. Is Mason Rook next for the championship? He made it clear what he wanted.
I’m sure tonight will have fallout regarding the championships, but some matches are set to take place.
NXT Tag Team Championship
The NXT Tag Team Championships weren’t defended this past weekend at WWE NXT Great American Bash, so instead they will be defended tonight. Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes of Vanity Project will defend their championships against El Hijo de Dr. Wagner and Galeno of AAA.
The Vanity Project are always difficult opponents as the members who aren’t competing will get involved in the match. However, Galeno and Dr. Wagner Jr. are very fast and always on their toes, looking for what to expect next. Maybe they are the perfect match for Vanity Project.
Jackson Drake of Vanity Project has a match tonight, too, against Mason Rook. He may be too busy preparing for or recovering from that match to help Baylor and Smokes in their match. Will this affect the outcome of the match? Who do you think will leave with the NXT Tag Team Championship?
