Major WWE SmackDown Players Declare for King of the Ring
WWE Friday Night SmackDown saw Trick Williams come out with Lil Yachty and begin the “Trick Williams Campaign,” with both men asserting how dominant Trick has been over the last six months. From NXT, TNA Wrestling, and now WWE SmackDown, Trick Williams made it known that he’s been on an absolute tear, and he has more in store for the WWE Universe.
Friday night, Trick Williams said that since Barcelona is extremely familiar with royalty, maybe they want another monarch in their ranks, as Trick Williams declares for the 2026 edition of King of the Ring. Before Trick could go further, Carmelo Hayes would make it known that once he’s taken care of business against Ricky Saints, Melo wants to settle this with his old buddy Trick Williams for the United States Championship.
Melo would add that Trick is the King in many respects, but the King of the Ring? Far from it. Ricky Saints would join the conversation, saying this telenovela needs to end, as he’s here to dominate and wants his shot at the United States Championship, calling Trick Williams all manners of delusional before Trick Williams would get the jump on him and slap the taste out of his mouth with an affectionately known Trick Slap.
The week beginning after Clash in Italy, the King of the Ring Tournament begins, and now, we have the United States Champion Trick Williams putting his hat into the proverbial race for a shot at a top title at SummerSlam 2026. The tournament hasn’t even begun, and yet, we already have a big-time player!
