Saturday is looking stacked with a whole card announced for this week’s Playoff Palooza special. Seven matches and one set of champions responding to the challenge made by Adam Copeland on Dynamite. Are FTR going to accept the Rated R Superstar’s conditions for one more match? Are FTR interested in ending for good one of wrestling’s greatest tag combinations?
With plenty of action with singles, tag, six, and ten-man tag action, plus two title contests, there’s a heap of spoils to challenge the NBA playoff weekend. Can Adam Priest impress against the ruthlessness of Ruth? Will we get more developments with the teased tension between Kris Statlander and Hiraku Shida? Can the Triangle of Madness stitch up Alex Windsor and the CMLL Women’s World champion, Persephone, like flies in their web?

Big Multi-Man Action
Jericho, “the guy who gets his ass beat by The Demand every week that he shows up” (yet to be trademarked), has hired two partners who would love to show Ricochet some love. The Hurt Syndicate has a history with The Demand. After all, it was this trio that cost them the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Two big powerhouse bruisers on each side are going to knock chunks out of each other. Along with their respective ring generals in Jericho and Ricochet, we’ll see if this is the end or the midpoint of their feud. Result-wise, it will be interesting to see how/if this plays into some fantasy booking some of us have speculated on.
Opponents last week, The Young Bucks and The Rascalz, team up once again. These five individual high-flyers and highlights combine Power Rangers’ megazoid to face the brute force of the hard men of Death Riders and The Dogs. That sounds like an 80s heavy metal band. However, the music these two opposing forces will make will be closer to punk thrash. Expect spots, pops, and hard landings.

Finally, a new combination of The Don Callis Family will challenge for the AEW World Trios Championship. Lance Archer, Andrade El Idolo, and Hechicero bring power, finesse, and technicality. Whilst The Conglomeration lacks power, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong have the experience and finesse to manage Idolo and Hechicero. Cassidy brings a wild-card energy and intelligence that might be enough to take down Lance Archer’s Goliath. But given the hot potato nature of the Trio’s title, who knows what could happen.
AEW National Championship
Last week, Jungle Jack Perry claimed he wanted another taste of the Don Callis Family. After defeating Mark Davis on the Dynasty Zero Hour, Perry proved he could chew and swallow what he bit off the bone. Challenging any member to get a shot at his title, El Clon has stepped up.
Expectations should be high. The incredible TNT Championship match El Clone had against Mark Briscoe earlier this year showed more of the corrupted Hologram’s uniqueness. Against someone like Perry, another high-flyer and risk-taker, this match could even challenge the 10-man tag for spots, speed, and how-did-they-do-it moments. Perry continues to come into his own. We are far removed from the faltering young singles star of earlier years. This could be match of the night.
