The final WWE Raw before Royal Rumble will feature a tag team championship No.1 contenders match

Stephanie Vaquer was by a Raptors logo, New Day were getting haircuts, and the Vision were seen entering the sold-out Scotia Bank Arena. Which, to WWE’s credit, seems like those were gate numbers, and to the fans’ credit, seems like they had no intent on letting a record snowstorm stop them from seeing AJ Styles in person, perhaps for the last time ever in a North American ring. Michael Cole hyped up how Styles doesn’t want his career to end on Saturday as Styles makes his way to the ring. Perhaps he’s trying to do a little damage control after Shinsuke Nakamura’s tweet-and-delete from the weekend…

AJ Styles vs CM Punk for the First Time in a WWE Ring

Styles took in the applause before welcoming everyone to Monday Night Raw. He said Gunther claims that’s the last time he’ll ever say it, as he claims he’s going to end his career. Styles says he’s not going anywhere. He’s made it clear that 2026 is the year he retires but there is still a lot of 2026 left. He wanted to let the fans know so they could enjoy his final ride together. John Cena showed him it could take a year to say goodbye. 2025 was the year of Cena, and 2026 will be the year of Styles. There are guys he wants to wrestle one more time and locker rooms he wants to wrestle in one more time. He wants to be world champion one more time, too. Styles knows Gunther is good, but he’s not phenomenal…Enter CM Punk, who seems to have heard his bat signal regarding the world title around his waist.

Punk takes in his own bit of applause before addressing the fans. He says he has known Styles for over two decades. They’ve been friends and enemies, but now there is nothing but respect between them. Punk asks what he’s doing putting his career on the line against Gunther because if it doesn’t go his way, that means it’s over. Punk likes to think they still have time and there are still moments they can make in front of the fans. Punk says selfishly he’s watched Styles’ career over their entire friendship, and he thinks the stakes are just too high. Styles questions if Punk thinks he can’t beat Gunther, but Punk isn’t saying that. He knows he can beat Gunther. But if it doesn’t go his way Saturday, that means Punk and Styles never get to go one-on-one in a WWE ring. I think we all know what’s coming next.

Styles tells Punk there is no time like the present as the fans chant for the match to happen tonight. Styles says he knows he can beat Gunther, and he knows he can beat Punk. Punk repeats that if it doesn’t go his way Saturday, he won’t get to prove that he can beat him. They both hear the crowd, and there is only one thing to do. Styles says if they do fight tonight, that makes him the No. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship after Saturday. Punk has no issue with that, but he tells Styles no need for No. 1 contendership. He’s a fighting champion, and if they wrestle tonight, it’s for the belt.

Six-Woman Tag: The Champs vs the Challengers

Iyo Sky and Roxanne Perez kick things off for the six-woman tag. Judgment Day is in control, isolating Sky in their corner. Sky finally tags in to Stephanie Vaquer, who quickly takes over and takes out Liv Morgan. Vaquer with a cover, but Morgan kicks out. Vaquer with a snap suplex to Morgan before Perez and Raquel Rodriguez distract on the apron. Another suplex to Morgan as Vaquer looks for the Devil’s Kiss, but Rodriguez stops it as we go to break.

Perez is legal as we get back from break and lands a moonsault that Vaquer just barely kicks out. Perez throws Vaquer into JudgmentDay’s corner, but Vaquer fights back. Morgan takes out Sky before Vaquer can make a tag, leading to Rhea Ripley going after Morgan. Unbeknownst to her, though, Rodriguez was stalking behind. She pushed Ripley into the steps, and she and Morgan celebrated their teamwork. Back in the ring, Perez tossed Vaquer back into the corner and Rodriguez tagged in. Before she could hit, Vaquer rolled out of the way, leading to a quick tag from Morgan. Vaquer hit a backbreaker, buying her enough time to tag in Sky, who took out all of Judgment Day. Action moved to the apron before Sky hit the missile dropkick on Perez. Sky rallied the crowd before hitting the bullet train. She went for Over-the-Moonsault but Morgan pulled Perez out of the way. Sky kept up, however, and hit a backbreaker on Perez. Morgan helped Perez find the apron before giving Sky an eyerake. Perez and Morgan hit their double team, but Sky kicked out as Perez took out Vaquer. Morgan went for Oblivion, but Sky got out of the way and tagged in to Ripley, who took out Morgan with a series of attacks. Rodriguez attempted to save Morgan, but Vaquer stopped it as Ripley hit a Razor’s Edge. Perez went for Pop Rox, but Ripley took her out with a lariat. Up to the top for Ripley, who took out Rodriguez with a missile dropkick. Ripley returns to Morgan but can’t land the Riptide. Morgan gets to the ropes and hits the tornado DDT for a nearfall as Sky breaks up the pin. It’s chaos as all six women are in the ring. Vaquer sends Rodriguez over the top before hitting a huge crossbody to take her out on the outside. Perez takes out Ripley, but Judgment Day can’t hit their double team as Sky comes in from the top. Ripley hits Perez with the Riptide, and the champs have it.

CM Punk Tells Finn Balor to Dump the Deadweight

Finn Balor catches up with CM Punk backstage. Balor says he wanted to be champion, but things didn’t go to plan. He didn’t win, but Punk was part of the most memorable night of his career. Punk picked him up and gave him his flowers, but he didn’t return them. He wants to now and thanks Punk. Punk says Balor should be thanked. He’s only the best because he beats the best. He doesn’t hand out titles to anybody, only to people who deserve them. There aren’t many top guys left, so Balor needs to ask himself what he wants his legacy to be. If he wants to be champ, he’ll need to stop hanging around with “garbage like Dominik Mysterio.” Punk says Balor should ditch Judgment Day, giving the Prince a lot to think about.

The Vision makes its way to the ring, and we’ll hear from them after the commercial break.

There was an ad for WWE 2K26 where Paul Heyman was pitching  Triple H each member of the Vision for the cover. Heyman and Triple H arrived, where the cover for the deluxe edition was revealed. It will be a King of Kings edition, celebrating the 30-year career of Triple H. The cover star of the standard version will be announced on ESPN 2 this Friday at 9 AM.

A Vision of the Royal Rumble

Heyman introduces the Vision, hyping up his guys. Heyman says Adam Pearce put his hands on Bron Breakker first, and that is the reason why they are there tonight. There are no excuses for that, as it’s not the behavior befitting of the general manager. Even people in Canada know that. Heyman showed another example of Pearce seemingly planting the brass knuckles that Rey Mysterio used to attack Austin Theory last week. Heyman welcomes Pearce to the ring, and he makes his way out. Heyman encourages the crowd to stand, boo, and give Pearce the middle finger. Pearce acknowledged that things got out of hand when he put his hands on Breakker and apologized. He pledges to the fans that it won’t happen again. Pearce says Heyman wants him to lift Breakker’s suspension and put him into the Rumble, and both things are already done. Heyman sticks his hand out for Pearce to shake, but he doesn’t do it. He says Heyman is such a good negotiator that he puts the entirety of the Vision in the Royal Rumble. Pearce also gives Theory a rematch against Mysterio tonight. And it seems like it’s happening next.

Austin Theory vs Rey Mysterio

Mysterio/Theory was underway when Raw came back from commercial break. Theory took Mysterio down to the mat and maintained control for much of the early going. Theory got Mysterio to the ropes as he showed off to Heyman. That allowed Mysterio to take control as he set up for the 619, but Theory had it scouted. Mysterio went to take out Theory from the apron, but Theory caught him. Mysterio still managed to counter and take out Theory against the post. As the Vision cornered for Theory, Penta and Dragon Lee backed Mysterio. Both groups were in the ring as the show went to commercial.

Theory was back in control as we came back from break, hitting Mysterio with a fallaway slam. He went after Mysterio in the corner, but he moved out of the way and sent Theory to the opposite corner, hitting a series of punches. Mysterio went for the springboard, but Theory caught him and hit Ataxia for a nearfall. Theory pushed Mysterio to the corner and put him on the top rope before attempting to follow him up. Mysterio fought him off and dumped Theory to the outside before hitting a hurricanrana on the outside. Mysterio rolled Theory back in the ring, but Logan Paul was there to take out Dragon Lee. That led to chaos on the outside as both factions got into it. Finally, Mysterio took out Paul on the outside, but Theory hit the stomp for the win.

The Vision continued their attack after the match, beating down Lee, Penta, and Mysterio. Spears and tsunamis to all as Cole questioned where the security was, and Pearce to break things up. Corey Graves said the blood was on Pearce’s hands as whatever happens in the Rumble is on him. The Vision stands tall as Breakker hits a super spear on Penta.

Nattie Has Arrived

Natalya is seen in a pre-recorded segment. She says she made Maxxine Dupri, and she failed her. She’s just like the rest of them. She thinks just because she rolled with a legend that she can roll like a legend. That won’t happen again. This is a new version of Natalya. When she’s done with Dupri, she’s coming for it all. Natalya elevates, but Nattie decimates.

Stephanie Vaquer Isn’t Done with Raquel Rodriguez

Raquel Rodriguez runs into Bayley and Lyra Valkyria as she looks for Pearce, saying she wants Vaquer now. Sure enough, Vaquer finds her first and attacks as security needs to pull the two apart.

Gunther Promises to End AJ Styles the Way He Did Goldberg and Cena

A pre-recorded interview with Gunther and Michael Cole. Cole asks why Gunther backed Styles into a corner by forcing him to put his career on the line. Gunther says there isn’t anything for him to gain by just beating Styles, but now he has something phenomenal to gain as he can beat him for his career. Cole said Styles wants to entertain the fans and take on rivals, so why rob everyone of these moments? Gunther said he’s sick and tired of these old timers overstaying their welcome and chasing moments. Those moments belong to him. Bill Goldberg, John Cena, and now Styles, all chasing moments that he brought an end to. Gunther said Styles has this beautiful idea about a farewell tour, but he’s not interested in him taking a moment away that belongs to him. Gunther says speaking of old timers, Cole falls in that category as well. He wonders how long he plans to stick around and chase another moment. He could kick the chair over and end his career right now, but he won’t because he wants to hear him say on Saturday that the career of the Phenomenal AJ Styles is over. Gunther says it’s going to be great and memorable.

Jey Uso makes his entrance to sit on commentary and watch the tag title contenders’ match.

Finn Balor Gets Denied His Rumble Spot

Finn Balor enters himself into the Royal Rumble, but Pearce said he had to fill that spot. Balor said it can’t be full and told Pearce it wasn’t over before running into Morgan backstage. She says Punk wasn’t showing him respect; he was mocking him. Morgan says she heard what Punk said, but Balor said it’s not as straightforward as it seems. He leaves to figure things out as we head back to the ring, where the Americanos are making their entrance.

Tag Team No. 1 Contendership

Bravo Americano and Kofi Kingston start things off as Xavier Woods offers a distraction on the outside to allow Kingston the edge. Rayo and Bravo with a double team on Kingston before Akira Tozawa tags himself. Julius Creed tagged in to flatten Tozawa with a clothesline. The Creeds take out the Americanos before Julius takes out Otis, and Brutus takes out everyone else on the outside. Otis is sent into the steps as it’s all American Made heading into the break.

Woods has Tozawa locked up as we are back from break, as Kingston quickly tags in and New Day isolate Tozawa. Rayo breaks up a pinfall, but it’s all New Day at this point. Tozawa gets his boots up to prevent another cover, and Rayo tags in on New Day. Bravo in and the two corner Tozawa briefly before he fights off with a hurricanrana. Julius knocks Otis off the apron to prevent the tag, but Tozawa takes out Bravo and Julius from the top. Otis is back on the apron, and Tozawa makes the hot tag. Otis takes out everyone as Bravo lands a cheapshot on Woods. Singlet down and caterpillar out, and Otis gets a cover that is broken up by the other teams. Everybody is in the ring now as Tozawa hits a double DDT and german suplex. He fires out and takes out New Day with a suicide dive, and then one for the Americanos, and finally to American Made. Tozawa rips the shirt off as the crowd rallies behind him. Kingston goes for Trouble in Paradise, but Tozawa counters. Grayson Waller takes out Tozawa before Otis takes out Waller. Jey Uso gets involved and superkicks Waller on the outside for good measure. Otis takes out New Day, but the Americanos take out Otis before Brutus tosses both. Otis catches Julius and drops him right on top of Brutus before tagging Tozawa in. Tozawa to the top rope with a senton for the win. Surprising result as Alpha Academy gets first crack at New Day after WWE just gave Tozawa quite the showcase. If the point was to show these two, whom Uso had dismissed, as a threat to the titles, mission accomplished.

Becky Lynch is in the Rumble

Jackie Redmond is with Becky Lynch, who refers to last week as a monumental victory. She insults Redmond’s Maple Leafs jacket before saying there was some controversy because of Natalya. But Lynch gets it; she’d feel the same way if she trained someone from nothing and they remained nothing like Mid Maxxine. It happened to her with Loser Lyra. Lynch says Nattie is implying she’s coming for the title but she can only do so if she wins the Rumble. Lynch enters the Rumble before Kairi Sane hypes up Asuka. Lynch says she’s ready for Asuka as she’s beaten Asuka many times. In fact, their team would have won War Games if the Kabuki Warriors hadn’t lost it for them. Sane goes to touch the IC title, but Lynch backs her off, and Asuka beckons her to leave.

Final Bits before the Main Event

Je’Von Evans finds AJ Styles backstage and says he wants a match on the farewell tour. He wishes him good luck. The match is next.

Stephanie Vaquer tells Adam Pearce she wants a fight, so next week, the world title will be on the line in a Philadelphia Street Fight.

Backstage with the Vision, they talked about the Rumble. Paul suggested they go in with one goal because they have an advantage. They are a well-oiled machine, and he thinks they should use that advantage to make sure that one of them leaves as the winner. He thinks it should be Bron Breakker. The rest agree, as Paul says, that is the Vision.

A vignette aired, announcing Oba Femi would be in the Royal Rumble, marking his official main roster debut.

Main Event: World Heavyweight Championship – CM Punk vs AJ Styles

Styles and Punk circled each other before locking up, looking for a strength advantage as dueling chants rang out. Styles with a headlock and a kick before Punk got Styles up, looking for an early GTS. Styles tried to roll through the Calf Crusher, but Punk reversed, going for the Anaconda Vise. Styles fought out and got the first nearfall on a roll-up. Both men got back to their feet and locked up again, getting both men down to the mat. Punk with elbows and kicks to a downed Styles before hitting a running knee for a one-count. Punk trapped Styles’ arm before getting him up. Styles fought out andhit Punk with a forearm strike before running against the ropes. Punk stopped his momentum with a clothesline, but Styles managed to hit Punk with a dropkick and out of the ring as he ran the ropes. Styles with a sliding knee to Punk on the apron as we head to break.

Styles is in control back from the break, attacking Punk in the corner. But Punk fights back, and the two engage in strikes before Punk throws Styles into the ringpost. Or he’s playing possum as Styles rolls up Punk and then hits the Styles Clash for a nearfall. Styles gets to his feet first and sets up for the Phenomenal Forearm. But Punk scouts it and grabs the ropes to knock Styles off. Punk and Styles exchange blows in the middle of the ring before Styles lands a Pele Kick to send both men to the mat.
