Chris Jericho has been making all the headlines lately. Fans are curious about his current status and whether or not he’ll re-sign with All Elite Wrestling or return to WWE again.
On the January 6 Monday Night Raw, fans speculated that Jericho would return. That didn’t happen, and both PWInsider and Fightful reported that he was never supposed to be there.
When AEW first started, Chris Jericho became an integral part of its programming. Over the years, fans got tired of seeing him again and again, so the company minimized his involvement with the product. Jericho hasn’t been seen in AEW for 9 months now, and his WWE return rumors have been stronger than ever.
Tony Khan recently commented on Chris Jericho’s current status in a recent interview, and here’s what he said.
Tony Khan Says Chris Jericho Has Been A Huge Part Of AEW Since The Beginning
Speaking with Adrian Hernandez, Tony Khan was asked to share an update on Chris Jericho. Khan said he is grateful for Jericho and his involvement in the early days of AEW and being a huge part of their success. Although he didn’t necessarily give much insight into Jericho’s contract status with these comments.
“I’m really grateful when I talk about people that have been here from the beginning and talk about that first show in Las Vegas. None of it would be possible without Chris Jericho, who’s been instrumental in AEW from the very beginning. I love Chris very much and I would say that Chris is always a big part of the AEW, and I think this promotion is here to stay. Chris Jericho is a huge part of our history and we’re really proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish, and Chris is an instrumental part of it.”
