WWE Royal Rumble 2001 arrived at one of the hottest times in WWE history. The company, then known as the World Wrestling Federation, was coming off one of its greatest years in the 2000s. A few months later, WrestleMania 17 (famously branded as WrestleMania X-Seven) was arguably the greatest Mania of all time.
