On this week’s WWE SmackDown, NXT Champion Ricky Saints and his challenger for tomorrow night’s NXT Deadline 2025, Oba Femi, were called into SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis’ office to speak of a great opportunity that lies ahead at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, where John Cena will headline the event with his final match.
Both champion and challenger were caught off guard, considering their big showdown on Saturday night. However, Aldis would quickly put their questions to bed as Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes would enter the fray. The message was short but very sweet; whoever comes out of their NXT Championship match tomorrow night at NXT Deadline, the winner will face the “American Nightmare” in a showcase match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The two had massive grins on their faces, knowing that the ante had been upped significantly. These two have been battling it out for the NXT Title for the better part of 2025. Now, they have an equally bigger prize to fight for; an opportunity to fight WWE’s QB1 in a showcase match that could make their already great young careers even better.
