The WWE and TNA Wrestling Partnership Will Continue Despite New TNA TV Deal

Since the announcement of the AMC TV Deal, rumours have been running rampant all over the Internet to say this new TNA Wrestling deal meant the end of the NXTNA partnership. In fact, the WWE-TNA deal is not ending as a ripple effect of TNA signing a TV deal with AMC Networks.

Your French Nygma spoke with TNA sources who confirmed that the existing partnership between the two sides, announced as a multi-year deal in January 2025, will continue. WWE sources also confirmed that they were made aware of TNA’s deal with AMC well in advance of today’s announcement, so it was not a case of TNA blindsiding them. WWE sources also pointed out that NXT was referenced in today’s press release from AMC and TNA.

The AMC deal

The TNA-AMC partnership kicks off LIVE from the Curtis Culwell Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex on Thursday, January 15, 2026. AMC will feature “Thursday Night iMPACT!” as a two-hour block of action-packed TNA Wrestling exclusively on television every Thursday from 9-11 PM EST. The new TNA-AMC agreement also includes extending the weekly telecast to AMC+ viewers.

When TNA premieres on AMC, it will have a new home that puts the company in front of a potential 60 million cable homes. The belief and hope within the promotion for many years had been that, when the company landed on a stronger platform, it would lead to greater awareness and success for the company.

The NXTNA effect

TNA Wrestling in 2025 announced a groundbreaking, multi-year partnership with WWE and its NXT brand, allowing WWE stars to appear on TNA programming, and TNA stars to appear on WWE shows. In November, TNA stars Nic Nemeth and Matt Cardona, among others, appeared on WWE programming. Leon Slater, Xia Brookside, Léi ng Lee, and others were on WWE/NXT.

Last week, at NXT Gold Rush, Léi Ying Lee defeated NXT’s Jordynne Grace and current TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan to bring the title back home. The upcoming NXT Deadline PLE will feature two TNA talents: TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater and former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry. They will both compete in the Iron Survivor Challenge match, a 25-minute 5-man bout to earn a maximum of points. The winner gets an NXT title chance.
