TNA Battles NXT at NXT Invasion on Tuesday, October 7 on The CW

Following TNA’s invasion of NXT this past Tuesday, NXT General Manager Ava made a massive announcement during NXT No Mercy. On Tuesday, October 7, it will be TNA vs. NXT on a special Invasion edition of WWE NXT.

Nearly a quarter of a century following the WWE vs. WCW Invasion PPV event in 2001, the concept and name are returning. Following the recent TNA invasion of NXT, after months of crossovers following the deal sparked between WWE & TNA, this show will be billed under the NXT vs. TNA: Invasion banner.

The best from TNA and NXT will clash for supremacy in two Survivor Series-style matches, one for the men and one for the women. The teams will be revealed by TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella and NXT General Manager Ava on NXT this Tuesday.

TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys will take on NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState (Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin) in a Winner Take All match. Plus, TNA World Champion NXT’s Trick Williams will face former NXT Champion Oba Femi, with everyone banned from ringside.

The Gold Rush

This marks the next step in the working relationship between TNA and WWE. Then, TNA has a good chance to end up with a slice of WWE gold in their midst with the Hardys vs. DarkState match. As the Hardys are meant to defend the TNA World Tag Team Championship against Team 3D in a Tables match at Bound For Glory, the chances for them to win the NXT titles are high.

Matt and Jeff Hardy winning the NXT Tag Team Titles is a nice way to balance things out. Two TNA titles are currently in NXT stars’ hands. Trick Williams is the current TNA Champion. Kelani Jordan is the new TNA Knockouts Champion after defeating Léi Ying Lee at Victory Road on Friday. Je’Von Evans will try to win the X-Division Championship at Bound For Glory against Leon Slater.

The members of each team will be announced on Tuesday, but NXT’s Myles Borne already volunteered. TNA’s Moose, Mike Santana, TNA International Champion Frankie Kazarian, Steph de Lander, Matt Cardona, and Mustafa Ali have already made their voice heard on social media.

The angle seemed inevitable from the start of the partnership in January. NXT and TNA have been at odds for some time now, with members of each promotion going over the fence to compete on various shows. It’s been fairly lopsided, with the NXT side seeing most of the success in those battles. Now, what the wrestling world thought would never happen is real. Invasion is on, and both brands are going to war.
