Returning to Toronto, expect the AEW locker room to go All Out on Saturday night. With many of AEW’s biggest hitters and names on the injury list, the wrestlers have the chance to step up.
Although not vying for the AEW World Championship, Darby Allin can still ascend with a massive victory over Jon Moxley in a story that’s older than Grand Slam 2024. Mark Briscoe looks to secure the biggest win of his career against MJF. This year’s NJPW G1 Climax winner, Konosuke Takeshita, will look to step out of Kazuchika Okada’s shadow. A protostar will attempt (without socks) to prove he can fill the boots required to be a world champion.
The pace might be blistering, but maybe there’ll be time for a nostalgic 5-second pose.

The Mad King Returns
Announcing Eddie Kingston’s return on Collision, rather than leaving it as a surprise, is pretty fitting for Kingston’s character. In history, Mad Kings like pomp and spectacle and grandeur. That’s not, nor has it ever been, Eddie Kingston’s style. A straight shooter, rough and ready, never standing on ceremony, and a cynic who questions wrestling conventions to the camera, it’s very Eddie Kingston to want to get straight back into the fight.
The match against Big Bill isn’t about the result. It’s about seeing Kingston’s grimacing and emotive face again when the crowd pops. It’s about Kingston returning to the gold and reminding fans what made him a cult icon in the first place. Depending on its card placement, we’ll perhaps be treated to the interaction many have fantasy booked last year—Kingston and Moxley face-to-face.

Cowboy vs. Protostar, Present vs. Future
The decision to have Kyle Fletcher as Hangman Adam Page’s third world championship defence is bold. In some respects, the outcome feels safe. The added stipulation of The Don Callis Family being banned from ringside hints at several possible outcomes. Beyond showing the world champion’s cleverness, it could long-term add another wrinkle to Fletcher’s arc and growth.
Undoubtedly, this match will soar in the ring when AEW’s present confronts its future. This match, in many respects, is a statement on what AEW offers beyond the shortcomings of the present.
