Cody Rhodes Is Undisputed at WWE SummerSlam 2025, Winning Title Over John Cena

The WWE SummerSlam 2025 match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes was highly emotional. Not only did we see Rhodes regain the Undisputed WWE Championship, but it was also the night we saw the “real John Cena” come back. This Street Fight was violent, but it wasn’t malicious. It was two warriors who gave it their all tonight, hitting each other with the greatest hits and kicking out with all the fighting spirit in the world.

As much as the WWE Universe would’ve loved to see them fight forever, this match is going to come to an end at some point. Attitude Adjustments and Cross Rhodes were hit multiple times throughout the game. However, one more well-placed Cross Rhodes to Cena gave Cody Rhodes the redemption he so desperately wanted, pinning the legend 1, 2, 3, clean in the middle of the ring.

Rhodes and Cena would share an emotional moment after the bout, with John Cena showing his respect for the heir apparent to this throne. A class act Rhodes is, as instead of celebrating in the ring with his newly-won Undisputed WWE Championship, he quickly left the ring to give the soon retiring John Cena his moment.

As Michael Cole put it, we have four months to go until John Cena rides off into the sunset. For now, we celebrate Cena, but above all else, we celebrate Cody Rhodes and his massive win that brought him back the Undisputed WWE Championship.
