Record-Breaking Title Change at TNA Slammiversary 2025

Record-Breaking Title Change at TNA Slammiversary 2025

Leon Slater broke another record at TNA Slammiversary 2025. After being the youngest signee and the youngest main eventer of the company, Leon Slater became the youngest X-Division Champion ever at 20 years and 296 days. He broke Amazing Red’s 2003 record of 21 years and 4 days.

Both Moose also had a record to break on the line, as he was around 30 days away from becoming the longest-reigning X-Division Champion ever. As a member of the System, we could have expected Moose not to be alone in this match. It didn’t happen.

Moose vs. Leon Slater at TNA Slammiversary 2025

Moose hit the Go To Hell early. Slater countered a powerbomb on the outside and sent him crashing into the steel ring steps. Slater countered another Go To Hell into a Hurricanrana off the apron.

Moose caught Slater, but the counters continued as Slater planted him on the ramp. Slater soared with Big Play Slater over the ring post.

Back in the ring, Moose hit a buckle bomb, but Slater immediately rebounded with a clothesline. Moose connected with the Spear, but Slater kicked out at two. Slater powered up Moose for Utopia.

Slater hit a Spear of his own, followed by the Swanton 450 for another near fall. Slater hit Code Red (Amazing Red’s signature move) on the floor, then soared halfway across the ring with a Swanton Bomb. Slater followed up with another Swanton 450 for the win.

A 5-star match, without a doubt, as both Moose and Leon Slater had a perfect match. Slater proved once again that he is the epitome of what TNA Wrestling is about. Moose proved he is definitely a pillar of this company and one of the greatest wrestlers TNA Wrestling has ever had.

After the match, we could have expected a bittersweet reaction from Moose. As TNA President Carlos Silva was coming to the ring to wrap the belt around Slater’s waist, Moose took it away from Silva and wrapped it himself around Slater’s waist in a tremendous sign of respect.
