On June 1st, 2025, R-Truth was released from WWE. Truth himself delivered the devastating news on X, tweeting out his humble thanks to the company, fans, and his fellow WWE Superstars.
One of the most respected and well-tenured veterans of the promotion’s locker room, R-Truth spent almost 20 years with the company, coming back in 2008. A former NWA Champion in TNA Wrestling, R-Truth got his first shot in WWE as K-Kwik, winning the Hardcore Championship twice.
His second run in the WWE as R-Truth was even better, featuring in a main event program alongside the likes of John Cena and The Rock in the late 2000s. Apart from that, he also accomplished the feat of becoming a 54-time 24/7 Champion, and enjoying reigns as United States Champion and WWE Tag Team Champions twice, respectively, in this amazing second stint with the company.
Truth’s last match with the company was probably his biggest, going one-on-one with Undisputed WWE Champion himself, John Cena, on Saturday Night’s Main Event only a few weeks ago.
Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you 🙏🏾

Everyone thought that R-Truth would have a job for life in WWE, and this day would never come. Unfortunately, R-Truth’s time in WWE has come to an end for now, and his coworkers, figures such as Pat McAfee, have made it known how much of a valuable teammate he was; his exit will be felt.
I love @RonKillings
It’s guaranteed joy when he’s a part of a segment.. He’s also my dad’s favorite WWE Superstar of all time.
