WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 39 Predictions

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 39 Predictions

WWE is bringing us another Saturday Night Spectacular when they bring the nostalgia show to Tampa Bay. It’s a great way to break up the onslaught of PLEs and has been a success, with great matches and memorable moments. WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 39 will feature five matches, all of which contain some seed of doubt as to who will be walking away the victor.

Sure, there are your favourites going in, but a great argument can be made for those matches to go either way. But we are not here to sit on the fence, because that wouldn’t be fun at all. With that being said, here are your predictions for Saturday Night’s Main Event.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 39 Predictions

John Cena vs R-Truth

Many could not have predicted this path for John Cena. There were only a finite number of dates he had left, and R-Truth was never going to be on anyone’s wish list. Thankfully, WWE did pull this trigger, as Truth has been great in this match’s build and provided everyone with a reason to watch it.

Interestingly, WWE hasn’t put the WWE Championship on the line, but that just adds a bit more intrigue to the match. It gives them an out if they want to have R-Truth go over with some kind of fluke roll-up. It would give us a very interesting finish, and it wouldn’t completely hurt John Cena in the long run.

However, this is Cena’s last run. He is leaning into his heel persona well, and having him stare up at the lights might not be a great idea. This will be a fun match, but the viciousness of Cena should show through and give him the win.

Winner: John Cena

Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest (Steel Cage Match)

The program between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre has been a pleasant surprise. It seemed to be a thrown-together feud, but both men have dug in and provided us with great television. Their matches have been good, and there shouldn’t be any thought against them producing a violent and entertaining Steel Cage match.

This is another match where the winner is very much in doubt. Both men could use a huge boost, and winning this would be a path back to the main event.

Priest has been great as the baby face, and his character has come a long way. If WWE were to go with him winning the match, he could be a fresh match-up for John Cena and could push WWE through the Summer.

As great as Priest looks, there are a few factors that should have McIntyre walk away the winner. Firstly, various reports are stating that Priest could be dealing with an injury. Having him job to McIntyre, especially in a vicious fashion, would give WWE the ammo to write him off while he nurses his wounds.

McIntyre is also very much in the driver’s seat with this feud. He has his WrestleMania win, and a win here would give him a claim to the main event. It’s time.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Jey Uso vs Logan Paul (World Heavyweight Championship Match)

Logan Paul has been the perfect first challenger for Jey Uso. He is a heat magnet, and WWE was never at risk of him stealing a positive reaction from their new World Champion. Their segments have been filled with huge reactions for both men, and WWE has done a great job of keeping us invested.

The odds will never be in favour of Logan Paul here. He is a part-time wrestler, a very charismatic and talented one, but one who shouldn’t be getting a World Championship reign, right? WWE is always wanting to create a stir, so don’t count out Paul getting the cheap win and listening to the chorus of boos.

Logan Paul winning sounds like a stretch, and it is. Jey Uso is the clear favourite here. His reign has gotten off and running just yet, and this match will be the one to do it.

A win here will give Uso his first major victory and help to legitimize his reign. There won’t be much surprise here as to who is going to leave with the World Championship.

Winner: Jey Uso

Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker vs CM Punk & Sami Zayn

It’s always a great time when these four men are on our television screens. CM Punk, Sami Zayn, and Seth Rollins are the best in the business, and Bron Breakker is well on his way to becoming one of the biggest stars in the company. The personal nature of everything has been fantastic, and this match will, of course, be one of the best of the night.

Punk and Zayn would be the feel-good victory here. Both men are coming off losses on their last major PLE appearance, and having them win would make sense. It would get a great pop from the crowd and provide a measure of revenge against Breakker and Rollins.

As great as it would be to see the faces win, it makes a whole world of more sense having Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker win the match. They have just started on their journey, and having their stable lose in their first match together would halt any momentum.

We can expect there to be nefarious circumstances under which they achieve victory, but they will have their victory. Maybe even a new member to their alliance could aid in their win.

Winners: Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker

Zelina Vega vs Chelsea Green (Women’s United States Championship Match)

This match was a last-minute addition to the card, and it comes on the heels of a program that has been faltering. Vega winning the championship was a shock, as Green was doing some of the best work of her career as the champion.

There is some chemistry between these two women, and their match will be an entertaining one, but there shouldn’t be much doubt as to the winner. Green was fantastic as the champ and was getting a growing reaction from the crowd. It would be a great moment to see her win the United States Championship back, but it might hurt the championship more than anything.

The smart money is to go with Vega retaining the strap. Her reign just started, and if WWE is trying to build her as a baby face star, taking the belt off her so soon would be a mistake. Plus, Green could be destined for bigger things on the roster, so Vega winning makes more sense.

Winner: Zelina Vega
