WWE Raw Results and Card from WWE Raw Tonight

Welcome to New Yeet City, er New York City. It’s been a while since Jey Uso has opened up the night but here we are, in Madison Square Garden and WWE MSG. It’s the perfect time to open things up with the yeet. Uso made his way from the back through the crowd, with all 20,000+ fans in MSG yeeting along with him. It was a sight to behold. It always is. When you see people on social media or writing about why Uso doesn’t deserve the main event of WrestleMania, I’d direct you back to scenes like this and the Daniel Bryan-esque groundswell of fan support when it comes to Uso.

Unfortunately, fans didn’t get much time to yeet as it was straight to business. A-Town Down Under made their way to the ring and Monday Night Raw got going.

Jey Uso vs Grayson Waller

Uso withe the early lead as he worked Waller into the corner. Waller managed to get an advantage and quick near fall. Uso shoulder first into the ring post as Waller continued to beat up the mid-section. But Uso sidestepping Waller and clotheslining him over the top to regain momentum. Suicide dive to take out Waller on the outside. Clothesline on the outside from Theory. It’s two-on-one. Uso back in the ring and Waller’s got him with the elbows to the chest. Another near fall but Uso kicks out at one. Waller to the top with the rights to Uso’s head. Uso fights back briefly, taking Waller down but then Waller with a big knee. Waller with the hold and gets Uso up and into the ropes with a huge spin kick to the back of neck. Waller with a top rope elbow but Uso kicks out. Waller and Uso up in the center of the ring exchanging blows. Samoan drop from Uso as the crowd yeets behind him. Uso to the top rope but no, Theory up with the distraction giving Waller time to get out of the way. Kick from Uso and goes for suicide dive but Waller catches him and lands a rolling flatliner for the near fall. Waller and Uso exchanging kicks. One to Theory from Uso and then a spear to Waller and that’s it for this one.

Post-match, Theory continues the attack alongside Waller. Both guys are laying the boots to Uso. Waller goes to take down Uso but Uso drops him over the top. Another spear to Theory and an Uso splash. And here comes GUNTHER with another ambush, another sleeper. Uso may be surprised but I think we all saw that coming. GUNTHER is a man of his word and he promised to make Uso’s life a living hell every single night. So far, he’s done just that.

We get a video hyping up CM Punk’s return to WWE and his various interactions with Seth Rollins since then. Rollins has done some of his best work on the mic since he started feuding with Punk (just goes to show that real life hatred is stronger than acting) and this was a reminder of that. Clips showed of Punk beating Rollins during Raw’s Netflix premiere and Royal Rumble and Rollins costing Punk the win in the Elimination Chamber before transitioning to last week’s brawl. A decade of hatred were the words that scrawled across the screen. No truer words. The question was asked as to who is the Best in the World but that’s not what this feud is about. This is personal. Rollins feels Punk abandoned him and abandoned the company he’s now calling home. That doesn’t sit well with the Visionary.

Another video, this time of Ludwig Kaiser and his feud with Penta. Kaiser promises no one will remember Penta’s name. They will just remember that Kaiser is the fastest rising superstar. Kaiser promises that Penta will no fear…Penta’s turn to respond. He says lucha libre is his kingdom. Next week in Brussels, the best chapter of the Penta era will be the final chapter of Kaiser’s career.

Backstage, the Alpha Babes are hyping up Uso, who is in a medical area with a bag of ice on his shoulder.

Logan Paul’s music hit and he made his way to the ring. Guess he wasn’t waiting for AJ Styles to call him out. Paul gives us our first in-ring promo of the night and like always, the boos are real. Paul pauses as the boos gets louder. He says Styles was supposed to call him out but he wanted to beat him to the punch because he doesn’t associate with guys like Styles. Paul says it seems the crowd has forgotten who he is. He’s Logan Paul and when you hear that name, you think of names like the Rock, John Cena, guys who have transcended the business. Guys who will do anything that it takes to get to the top. Paul says he’s shocked that Cody Rhodes was dumb enough to reject the Rock’s offer. Paul says it took Cena 20 years to realize nice guys finish last but Paul has known that since day one. Paul calls out the Rock and says his soul is for sale. He doesn’t run away from opportunities, that’s why he’s in the middle of the ring and the fans are just watching from the crowd and from TV. He’s the celebrity, he’s the talent.

AJ Styles, Logan Paul, and Andrew Schultz

Paul calls out Andrew Schultz in the crowd and heads down to where he’s sitting. Schultz is given a mic. He says he’s here to see the steel cage match. Paul tries again and Schultz says no one is here to see him. This isn’t Cleveland, Ohio, This is a real city and they like real wrestlers. Schultz then says he wants to see Styles. Paul grabs him and throws him over the barricade and into the ring. Styles comes out to make the save and the two begin brawling. Schultz in the corner as Styles sets up the Phenomenal Forearm and hits it. Styles high fives Schultz as Paul rolls out of the ring. Styles with the mic as the crowd chants his name. Styles calls Paul back to the ring saying he’s not done with him. Paul keeps walking as Styles says Paul claims not to run from opportunities. Styles says this is New York City and grabs Schultz and holds his arm up as Paul continues walking to the back.

Recap of the Raw Women’s Championship match last week as IYO SKY claimed the title. SKY will be in the ring for an interview later tonight.

New Day make their way to the ring for the tornado tag team match as we head to commercial. So of course that means a New Day promo. Kofi Kingston says thank God for the New Day and says the fans don’t get to boo them. He said not the town that where the New York Jets just signed Justin Fields which means their franchise is going nowhere, or where the New York Giants think Shadeur Sanders will save them, but he can’t save that piss poor franchise. Xavier Woods says they’d bury the New York Knicks but there’s no reason to as they are already dead. Kingston said the real franchise in this town is the Brooklyn Nets. Woods and Kingston said they were on vacation with their families doing things the fans could never afford. They were in paradise but now have to be in the rat and pigeon infested city. Woods says the fans need to thank God for the New Day and the fact they get to see them wrestle tonight.

Video of Dana White and TKO partnering on a new boxing organization before some crowd shots of a boxer and boxing trainer.

A clip of Bruno Sammartino vs Ivan Koloff in the first televised steel cage match from the Garden. Seems we’ll be getting these throughout the night.

New Day vs LwO

No sooner does the bell ring and LwO are already taking it to Woods and Kingston. Chaotic from the start as LwO have the early edge. Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio both up on the ropes with the rights before a double bull dog. Woods and Kingston roll out of the ring and Lee and Mysterio pursue.  Woods into the announce table as Mysterio and Lee are under the ring. Woods into the steel post and here comes the first table, but no, Kingston attacks. Woods and Kingston send Mysterio into the post and Lee into the barricade. New Day tease getting the tables but push it back under the ring. Brawl continues outside. Huge moves from Mysterio and Lee to take down Woods and Kingston on the outside. Crowd chanting “we want tables” as LwO bring one out and set it up. Lee picks up Kingston but before Mysterio can push him into the table, Kingston makes the save. Action back outside as Mysterio driven into the steel steps and Lee slammed to the floor. It’s all New Day as we head to the break. Back in the ring, Woods throws Mysterio out of the ring as he and Kingston get to the top where Lee is. Looking for a double superplex but no, Lee fights them both off. Kingston back up but Mysterio takes him down. Woods again knocks Mysterio off the apron. Woods and Kingston double teaming Lee but Lee with the rights as Mysterio gets to the top. Huge hurricanrana from the top to take out Woods as Lee with a massive stomp on Kingston. What a sequence.

Lee with a hurricanrana to send Woods through the table. Kingston will a roll up on Mysterio. Goes for the 619 but no, Kingston blocks, goes for Trouble in Paradise. Crossbody from Mysterio for the near fall. Again setting up for 619 and this time, he hits it. Mysterio to the top and goes for the splash but Kingston gets the knees up. Lee breaks up the pinfall. Kick to Kingston and throws him over the ropes. Lee gonna fly and he does with a huge flip over the top. But wait, a masked man with an American flag themed design from the announce table takes out Lee with a hurricanrana and flying headbutt. This has got to be Chad Gable. Yep, there’s the german suplex. Security escorts Gable, er the mysterious masked man, to the back and we are back to action. New Day with Mysterio in the double team finisher and this one is over.

Recap of Finn Balor and Judgment Day’s ill-advised attack on Bron Breakker last week. Balor says it can’t happen again as Breakker is starting to rub him the wrong way as he’s talking to Carlito. The rest of Judgment Day arrives as Balor seems annoyed. Liv Morgan says she’s got things handled. Bayley vs Raquel Rodriguez and after that, Rodriguez gets her shot at the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Dominik Mysterio says he spoke to Breakker and got Balor a match for Breakker’s IC title next week. Balor gives Mysterio a hug as he leaves to make his match official. Morgan seems skeptical but Mysterio says he believes in Balor.

More celebrity cameos as we are in New York after all.

Cody Rhodes is the Captain Now

Crowd chanting as Rhodes takes it all in and looks around, still sporting a bruise under his eye. Rhodes asks the crowd what they want to talk about. He says he is here because this place is a cathedral, the home base for WWE, a wrestling mecca, its the Garden. He calls out Cena by name. Huge boos. Rhodes says Cena is not there tonight. Apparently he told his inner circle of Travis Scott, the Final Boss, that he won’t be there but he’ll be in Brussels next week. Rhodes says he doesn’t like that. It’s the same Cena who won the US title and came back to win the rumble in that very arena at MSG. Rhodes says apparently it was an easy decision. Just like it was an easy decision to swing at someone after kicking them in the nuts. He says he doesn’t begrudge Cena calling his shot or having a part-time schedule. He does begrudge…”Let’s go Cena/Cena sucks” dueling chants. Rhodes says it’s live on Netflix and Cena is somewhere watching so let’s let him here it. He says he begrudges him going on social media to say “have the discipline to do what needs to be done even if you don’t feel like it.” Rhodes says everyone has that mentor, that teacher, that coach still calling plays, and at a certain point, you have to look over and say, “John, sit down you GD moron.” Rhodes says no one defined best for business more than Cena but he’s not sure, he thinks the fans know what’s best and perhaps the business has changed. It’s tacky to tout stats but here’s one that will never be and that’s 17. It’s a delusion, a fantasy. 17 does not happen but what will happen is Rhodes has the heart-breaking privilege of beating his hero in his last chance while Cena finds out what the fans already know, that he’s the captain now. Rhodes says God bless New York as he holds the title up high.

Lyra Valkyria interview. Valkyria says Ivy Nile is a horrible person so it’s hard to admit, but she’s a good wrestler and almost had her last week. Valkyria says Nile brought the level of competition that the title deserves and that’s what she signed up for. Valkyria says she’s invested in the contendership match and she can’t stop thinking about how Bayley beat her a few weeks ago. Whether it’s Bayley or Rodriguez she’s prepared to put the title on the line against either of them.

Another clip of a steel cage match from the Garden. Super Fly Jimmy Snuka with a splash from the top of the cage.

More crowd shots of Netflix stars, very cross promotional.

Bayley vs Raquel Rodriguez (w/ Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio)

Lock-up to start things off. Rodriguez gets Bayley into the corner but Bayley fights back. Rodriguez uses her power to knock Bayley to the outside. Huge boot from Rodriguez as she throws Bayley back in the ring. Bayley fights back but huge shoulder tackle by Rodriguez to stop Bayley in her tracks. More shoulder tackles but Bayley with kicks in the corner. Bayley to the ropes with the arm drag. Rodriguez catches Bayley with a spear and then a little Cesaro swing or as Pat McAfee says, ‘Raquel ragdoll’ in the middle of the ring. Both women fighting hard but it’s all Rodriguez until Bayley gets her into the corner. Rodriguez to the apron to talk to Morgan but Bayley up the steps and a huge takedown. Bayley and Morgan jaw on the outside as Bayley rolls back in the ring for a quick cover but no kick off from Rodriguez. Bayley attempts the cross body but Rodriguez out of the way and responds with a corkscrew off the second rope. Rodriguez wrestles Bayley to the mat, bending her arm back. Bayley again with momentum stunted with a stiff forearm. Near fall for Rodriguez.

Bayley grabs the ropes but Rodriguez with the elbows. Bayley with an inside cradle but again, Rodriguez takes Bayley down. Bayley with shoulders in the corner. Can’t quite get the sunset flip bomb though as Rodriguez powers out of it and hits a clothesline. Rodriguez goes for a huge boot on the apron but Bayley moves out of the way. Bayley hangs Rodriguez and then knees to the face. Bayley with another take down on the ropes and sliding clothesline but Rodriguez kicks out. Rodriguez tries to get Bayley up for the suplex but no, roll through into a near fall. Bayley with a huge boot and then top rope elbow but Rodriguez kicks out. Rodriguez face first off the turnbuckle. Suplex by Bayley and another near fall. Rodriguez sent out of the ring and Bayley with kicks through the ropes. Baseball slide but Rodriguez moves out of the way, goes to throw Bayley into the post but no, Rodriguez into the post face first. Bayley back in the ring and the ref begins the count.

Mysterio and Morgan on the apron. Bayley takes out both and goes to take out Rodriguez but she catches her and sends her into the announce desk. Ref starts the count again as Bayley rolls off the table and beats the count. Rodriguez with a huge boot and Tehana Bomb. That’s a wrap.

Cathy Kelley is backstage with Chad Gable. Gable says that wasn’t him who attacked LwO. It was a great match and wild a fan was able to interfere by dropping the barricade. Gable says security at MSG is pathetic. They should have drug the guy out of there before he attacked. Kelley tells Gable to stop lying but as the interview continues, a man in the same lucha mask is escorted and we see him and Gable on screen at the same time. The plot thickens…

SKY is shown walking to the ring for her interview with Michael Cole.

Jackie Redmond hypes up the steel cage match and announces Balor vs Breakker is official for Belgium. Cut to a video from Breakker, who says he is the title picture. Next week he’s gonna fight Balor. The Netflix guys says he has to say something nice about Balor. Balor took everything over, he’s done a lot of great things, so many in his career. It’s going to be used against him because now he’s a threat. He’s going to have an out of body experience being in the ring with an athlete so far in front of everyone else. Breakker says he’s going to beat Balor bad because the champ in him respects him but the dog in him smells fear and that’s a threat.

Clip of Randy Savage against Ted DiBiase in a steel cage match at MSG.

More crowd shots of Netflix stars and rappers.

IYO SKY and Bianca BelAir Interview

Cole asks about the match last week as the crowd chants “you deserve it.” SKY says its a dream to be at MSG as champion. Last week, she proved the impossible is possible and now, she’s over the moon to be champion heading to WrestleMania. Cole brings out Bianca Belair. Belair congratulates SKY and says she’s excited for the two of them to go to WrestleMania. Cole brings up that Belair got into it with Rhea Ripley and asks if its fair to say that if she wasn’t there, that the outcome would have been different. Belair says she was just out there to see who her opponent was going to be. She wasn’t trying to influence the outcome but Ripley should have known better than to put her hands on her. Ripley makes her way from the back, asking what her reason was for being out there. Ripley questions if she wanted to help SKY because she was scared she couldn’t beat her. Ripley says Belair had no business being out there. She should have let her handle her own business while Belair handled hers with Naomi and Jade Cargill. Belair says Ripley knows she can’t beat SKY and just wants to blame her for her own shortcomings. SKY tries to get involved but Ripley shoves her to the ground. SKY gets back in the middle and Belair takes her down. SKY gets back up as the two are arguing and slaps both as she reminds them she’s the champion and deserves to be respected.

Preview of the card for Brussels next week.

Seth Rollins makes his entrance from the back as he conducts the crowd in singing his theme. CM Punk is up next and the crowd is super hot for him. It is noted that Punk is an undefeated 4-0 in MSG. Foreshadowing his first loss? Perhaps…

CM Punk vs Seth Rollins

Both men are in the cage and the action starts immediately as the two men go after each other with a fist fight. Brawling in the corner as the crowd cheers for Punk. Chops and stiff rights from both men as dueling chants begin. It’s a slugfest as both guys are grounded. More chops and punches exchanged as Punk finally gets Rollins to his knees. But Rollins gets back up and knocks Punk to his knees. Rollins pulls him back up but Punk was playing possum and reverses into the GTS position but no. Rollins with a buckle bomb to send Punk back first into the cage as we go to break. Back from the break and the two continue to punish the other. Rollins shoves Punk’s face into the cage and steps on his neck. Commentary remarks there have been no pinfalls, no submissions, no escape attempts. These men just want to beat the hell out of each other. The cage door opens as Rollins dares Punk to take it. Rollins has no interest in doing so as Punk is laid up in the corner. Punk with a gesture Netflix isn’t allowed to show before he fights back with his firsts. Rollins goes for another buckle bomb. No, Punk reverses and sends Rollins shoulder first into the steel. GTS by Punk but no attempt to cover. Both men to their feet as Punk hits Rollins with a knee into the steel before shoving Rollins face first into it. Rollins hung up over the ropes and Punk with a huge knee to the back of the head.

Punk’s turn to open the door. Rollins refuses with a gesture Netflix can’t show and Punk hits a running knee and a neckbreaker. Series of elbows to Rollins. Punk to the top rope and a huge elbow a la Savage a la Bayley earlier in the night. Punk back to the top rope, appears to mouth “FU” before another elbow. Crowd chants “one more time.” Punk back to the top and there’s number three and the first pinfall attempt of the match. Punk looks up at the WrestleMania sign as he starts to climb the cage. Punk to the top of the cage but he doesn’t climb out. Rollins to the top. Rollins has Punk hung over the top and hits a huge superplex. Rollins with the cover, but Punk kicks out. Both men are down as the crowd chants, “this is awesome.” Rollins and Punk back to exchanging blows on the mat. Both get to their feet and continue punching each other. Rollins eggs Punk on. Punk looks for the GTS but no, Rollins counters and into a pedigree, but he can’t land it. Punk reverses and hits a second GTS. Goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out. Punk gestures for the third GTS and has Rollins up but no, Rollins grabs the leg and counters into an STF, the same move Punk passed out to in the chamber. Rollins yells at Punk to go to sleep but Punk is able to reverse into the Anaconda Vice. Rollins goes for the ropes but it’s no DQ. He rakes the eyes. As Punk is recovering, Rollins hits the stomp and goes for the cover but Punk kicks out.

The crowd rallies behind Punk as both men are sat on the mat. Rollins uses the ropes to help himself up as Punk is still down. Rollins to the second rope and he goes for another stomp but Punk drags his foot off the rope and lands another GTS. Once again, Rollins kicks out. Three GTS’…Hard to believe that’s the move that’s going to beat Rollins tonight. Punk looks frustrated as the crowd begins to rally behind Rollins. Punk to his feet. Punk lands a stomp on Rollins and goes for the cover but Rollins kicks out. Hatred is a powerful motivator. The ref opens the door again and Punk is in the corner. Rollins says if Punk wants his house, he can take it from him and calls him an asshole. Punk looks for a fourth GTS but no, Rollins with the GTS to Punk followed by a stomp. Rollins with a cover but Punk kicks out. These two are giving the other everything they have and it’s not enough.

Rollins eyes the open door as Punk grabs at his leg. Rollins back to the second rope with a huge stomp but can’t go for the cover. And here goes the crowd as they see something we don’t. Roman Reigns has arrived and he grabs Rollins and drags him out of the cage. Rollins with the win but Reigns isn’t done. Superman Punch and Spear. The crowd chants “OTC” as Reigns throws Rollins into the barricade. Huge stomp from Reigns onto Rollins. This couldn’t get more personal. Reigns shoves Rollins head into the steps but before he can do more damage, Adam Pearce and security arrives. Reigns watches as Paul Heyman is in the cage with Punk, comforting him. Reigns sends Punk into the cage and Spear to Punk. He walks past Heyman in the corner and it’s Reigns standing tall as Raw goes off the air.

What a main event, Madison Square Garden. That’s a wrap.
