CM Punk and Seth Rollins will settle their differences live on WWE Raw on Netflix on January 6, 2025.
Rollins was furious when Punk returned to the WWE at Survivor Series 2023. “The Visionary” claimed Punk had tried to kill the WWE when he walked out of the company in 2014. Punk claimed WWE Doctor Chris Amann hadn’t given him proper treatment during his time with the company.
Punk subsequently won a defamation lawsuit between himself and the WWE over his comments in a podcast interview with Colt Cobana. In his decade away from the WWE, CM Punk was often vocal about the negative aspects of working for the WWE.
Rollins took offense, as he felt he had to put the WWE on his back and carry the company in spite of CM Punk’s departure and negative words.
Rollins vs. CM Punk was a match many thought would take place at WrestleMania 40 but an injury to Punk at the Royal Rumble derailed things.
An Injury, A psychopath, A Delay
Both men then feuded with Drew McIntyre. McIntyre claimed responsibility for injuring Punk at the Royal Rumble. He cut a series of excellent promos referencing him forcing CM Punk on another hiatus from the WWE.
When McIntyre defeated Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40, Punk caused him to immediately lose the title to Damian Priest.
The WWE feud of the year then played out between Punk and McIntyre. Rollins was the special guest referee when the two met at WWE SummerSlam.
Punk won a best-of-three-match rivalry against McIntyre. Whilst also getting the phycological advantage over him throughout the feud.

Rollins, meanwhile, came up on top of a mini-feud with Bronson Reed.
As winter rolled in, this left both men free to say what they truly felt.
Rollins doubled down on his hatred for Punk. Adding that the latter had refused to train him when he asked for help as a teenager wanting to break into the wrestling business.
Seth Rollins also took offense to Punk using him for protection when he was part of The Shield. But it was the crowd constantly chanting ‘CM Punk’ during the decade he was away that really got to Rollins.
Punk’s response. He didn’t care about Rollins and had no interest in a match with him.
But over the past two weeks, the words got sharper and the two men finally came to blows.
Rollins demanded a match. WWE Raw GM Adam Pearce could no longer put things off. It is a match a decade in the making and WWE Raw on Netflix is the only place big enough for it.

Meanwhile, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa will battle in a match many thought could be held for the WrestleMania 41 card on WWE Raw on Netflix.
The heads of the two strands of The Bloodline will meet as Reigns looks to retain his ula fala. But with The Rock having now completed his promotion work for Moana 2 and Red One, could “The Great One” return?
