Flamita vs. Bandido & More From Big Lucha
What to Know Prior to Upcoming Event
Big Lucha also announced the undercard for this same show consisting of 6 matches featuring some surprise names from around Mexico but a few visiting imports like former All Elite Wrestling wrestler Jack Evans, former NXT talent Catalina Garcia and Shun Skywalker from Dragon Gate. This will be the 11th singles match between Flamita and Bandido and a world title will be at stake for the first time. A history-making moment belongs to either man on September 23; their long-standing friendship turned bitter feud has led to this important singles match.
The Bandido/Flamita feud has been going on since the summer of 2020 when both men were still aligned as MexiSquad alongside Rey Horus during their stint with Ring of Honor. Flamita turned heel on both men and decided to chase singles success around the world and he achieved it in Big Lucha, the past year. Black Generacion has taken the promotion by force since the birth of Big Lucha. Winning the Big Lucha World Championship would truly solidify Flamita and the faction as a serious opposition within pro wrestling across Mexico.
A 3-way match involving 2 of the biggest stars from 2000s lucha libre will be in the semi-main event; Blue Demon Jr. is coming in for a guest appearance facing Dr. Wagner Jr. and Skayde is involved too.
Jack Evans will be teaming with Action Jackson, Shun Skywalker, Shocko, and Mentallo vs the team of Komander, Gravity, Emperador Azteca, El Bendito, and Carito in a big 10-man tag team match. Catalina Garcia, fresh off her time in NXT, will be looking to make a statement in her Big Lucha debut. Catalina teams with Sussy Love to face La Hiedra & Sexy Star II. The “Alas de la Independencia” features the likes of many Big Lucha regulars: Mr. Win, Yutani, Extasis, El Elemental, Viajero, Radioactivo, and Cometa Maya along with a few others.
To round out the undercard, Los Gorillas (King & Kong) will face Big Sky Lucha (Elipse & Orbita) in the opener of this highly anticipated show part of a doubleheader weekend from Big Lucha later this month. Big Lucha will be resuming this month after a few weeks of layoff and rest for their roster.
