The Briscoes Win GCW Tag Team Championship

Los Macizos, the team of Ciclope and Miedo Extremo, defended the GCW Tag Team Championship against Jay and Mark, The Briscoes. This match featured a show of respect between the four competitors before the action went underway. It didn’t take long, however, for weapons such as light tubes and doors to become involved, feeding into the ultraviolent nature that Game Changer Wrestling has become synonymous with. Toward the end of the match, The Briscoes were able to dispose of Ciclope with a Doomsday Device through a door. From there, The Briscoes focused on Extremo, Jay executing the Jay Driller for the pinfall victory. With this, The Briscoes won the GCW Tag Team Championship for the third time in their careers, adding to their established tag team resume that spans IMPACT Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and many more promotions.

Rina Yamashita Wins GCW Ultraviolent Championship

The sole singles title to change hands at GCW Homecoming 2022 Part 1 was the Ultraviolent Championship. The defending champion, Alex Colon, put the strap on the line against Rina Yamashita. This match, which was held under deathmatch rules, saw the two competitors use everything to inflict pain on each other. From light tubes to panes of glass, the violence showcased in this match was at a high level. As the match approached its conclusion, Colon and Yamashita elected to smash light tubes over each other’s heads, aiming for the advantage as fatigue began to set in. The conclusion of the match saw Yamashita use Colon’s own move, the Camel Clutch, against him. Yamashita submitted Colon in the center of the ring, capturing the GCW Ultraviolent Championship and becoming its first female titleholder in the process.
