On June 19, 2022, WWE announced the passing of former professional wrestling referee Tim White at age 68. His career with the company spanned over two decades, even beyond duties as an in-ring official. Following a shoulder injury, he continued to work with the company as a road agent and company official. This news comes off the heels of the passing of Dave Hebner, another professional wrestling career whose career was linked to WWE throughout the years.

What to Know Regarding Former Professional Wrestling Official

Tim White began his WWE career in 1985, working with Andre the Giant as not only the legendary star’s handler of sorts but a part-time referee for the company as well. In fact, White’s last televised appearance before his passing was the Andre the Giant episode of WWE’s A&E television series, Hidden Treasures. As one of the more prominent WWE referees during his time, White officiated many notable matches, including The Undertaker vs. Mankind inside Hell in a Cell at King of the Ring 1998.

White suffered a shoulder injury in 2002 while officiating the Hell in a Cell Match between Chris Jericho and Triple H at that year’s Judgment Day pay-per-view. White remained out of action until 2004 when he returned at WrestleMania XX to referee Jericho’s match against Christian. However, White would reinjure his shoulder in said match, forcing him to end his career as an in-ring official. Nonetheless, White remained with the company until 2009, serving multiple roles before his release that year.
