After capturing the ROH Television Championship, Samoa Joe’s celebration was cut short by Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt. The two delivered on their promise of having a gift for the Samoan Submission Machine, initially believed to be a joke of Lethal flipping off his mentor, but quickly being revealed to be a beatdown courtesy of former Dallas Mavericks Center Satnam Singh.
Singh showed no mercy as he battered Samoa Joe before holding him in place for Jay Lethal to hit his Lethal Injection finisher on Joe. The commentary team mentioned that Dutt has been mentoring Singh in Atlanta, but he was also a participant in the Nightmare Factory’s fifth camp.

Satnam Singh Makes AEW Debut
What to Know Following AEW Dynamite
Singh was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks back in 2015 as the 52nd pick in the 2nd round, becoming the first Indian player to reach the NBA. His journey is covered in an excellent documentary titled, One in a Billion. He played for the Maverick’s G-League associates, the Texas Legends, from 2015 to 2017. After departing the Legends, Satnam tested the waters of professional wrestling for the first time with a tryout for WWE in 2017.
While WWE did not take the athletic big man, AEW announced, on September 23, 2021, that they had signed Satnam to the roster. For anyone who would like to see more of the “One in a Billion” athlete in the ring, be sure to watch The Nightmare Factory Showcase 5, as he makes his presence felt following a match between Pedro Pablo and Tony Vincita.
Between his athletic background, the coaching he’s received from the excellent staff at the Nightmare Factory, and currently being under the tutelage of Dutt and Lethal, Satnam Singh is being set up for success and will surely be one of AEW’s next homegrown success stories.
