Friday Night SmackDown has arrived with its yearly WWE draft show. Roman Reigns has beaten everyone there is to beat on SmackDown and rather than trade him away (that would be a disaster), some fresh challengers from Raw could move to SmackDown for a storyline with the Tribal Chief. Additionally, the SmackDown women’s division – which revolves around SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks (also the injured Bayley) – could use some fresh faces, to provide some new match-ups. Only one segment has been announced so far, as the rest of WWE’s focus is soley on the draft. Let’s jump right in to the preview.
Edge Returns to Confront Seth Rollins
In an excellent match a few short weeks ago, Seth Rollins hit Edge with a devastating Curb Stomp – writing Edge off of TV until tonight. The story was simple: in hitting his finishing move on Edge’s surgically repaired neck, Edge was taken out of action and, potentially, paralyzed. Of course, we know this wasn’t going to keep Edge away for long; there is likely one big match left between these two. Whereas it is probably time for both men to move on, Edge has to secure revenge in this feud. Either one of these two could be drafted to Raw tonight, so it will be interesting to see what exactly materializes. In the meantime, Rollins will have to deal with a vengeful Ultimate Opportunist looking to inflict similar amounts of pain.
Not Announced But Expected For Tonight’s SmackDown
– The coveted first pick in the draft will be announced tonight. Who might it be? Here is our article on who it should be. Additionally, here is our mock draft.
– Now that Roman Reigns has overcome Finn Bálor, his attention will be turned towards Brock Lesnar – Reigns’ opponent at the upcoming Saudi Crown Jewel show. Expect more from the love triangle between Reigns, Lesnar and Paul Heyman. Yes, it’s a love triangle.
– Sasha Banks returned to attack Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair last week. Could one of these women be moving to Raw? All three are certified stars and we could definitely see Sasha moving to Raw. However, in the meantime, expect Becky and Bianca to confront their attacker from last week (as well as each other).
