#2. The Undertaker Defeated Edge at WrestleMania 24 and SummerSlam 2008
Few rivalries have defined SmackDown like the generational feud between the Undertaker and Edge in 2007-2008. It all started when the Ultimate Opportunist successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank on a bruised Undertaker to win the World Heavyweight Championship in May 2007.
When Taker returned, he eventually shifted his focus to Edge. However, through a range of shenanigans, the Rated-R Superstar always found a way to keep the World Heavyweight Championship. The Phenom booked a date with Edge after winning the 2007 Royal Rumble.
WrestleMania 24 was the first time Taker defeated Edge. The Hell’s Gate put away the champion and gave the Phenom his revenge. Nonetheless, the Master Manipulator wasn’t finished with Taker. He nearly killed the Deadman by sending him through a stack of tables at One Night Stand 2008.
Vickie Guerrero booked a Hell in a Cell match between Edge and Taker for SummerSlam 2008. Unfortunately, the 11-time World Champion was all alone this time, locked inside with one of the most twisted names in the business. The Deadman put away Edge for good this time around, and Chokeslammed him to hell after the match.
#1. Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena Headlined Both of 2025’s Biggest Shows
2025 was John Cena’s final year as a wrestler. Hence, it was a given that he would headline several PLEs and break some records. Unfortunately, Cena shockingly turned heel at Elimination Chamber 2025 and brutally assaulted Cody Rhodes. The heel turn added excitement, but the match at WrestleMania 41 Sunday was a massive disappointment.
Heel Cena didn’t connect with the crowd. The match never really got going, and presenting Travis Scott as the difference-maker was a baffling move. Nonetheless, the Greatest of All Time defeated Rhodes and won the World Heavyweight Championship, but it hardly felt like a genuine victory.

Fortunately, WWE rectified its previous errors months later at SummerSlam 2025. Cody Rhodes won the King of the Ring tournament, setting up a World Championship match with Cena at the Biggest Party of the Summer. The match was made a Street Fight, which proved to be a wonderful decision.
However, this time around, Rhodes was facing the “real” John Cena. The Champ had turned face a couple of days before the match. This was the right move. Their Street Fight at SummerSlam 2025 was much better than their WrestleMania encounter. It had amazing storytelling with plenty of big moves. The emotion on display was the icing on the cake.
