But is Jey Uso the wrong choice?
The answer is honestly, no.
There are valid reasons to want the three men listed to get the spot that Jey Uso has. But Jey Uso has also managed to be super over with the crowd in every city that he has wrestled in, and has also done his best to continue to get his character over. The other reason is Oba’s momentum. With Oba Femi being the hottest and most dominant wrestler in WWE at the moment, it almost seems that Femi could win it all.
That is not to say that Jey could not win, and we get another Tribal Combat match. It’s possible and makes sense, even if it is not the most desired matchup right now. But Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi for the World Title is a match that many would love to see.
Kicking it off with Femi dominating Jey, much like he did with Dominik Mysterio, would serve as a great start to the feud and give Roman more fuel to not like Oba because it could be built as a moment that Roman might take personally, as Oba would have hurt family.
The thing about this is Jey has nothing to lose by losing to Oba in a way that has Oba dominating, whereas wrestlers like LA Knight, Finn Balor, and Je’Von Evans would not benefit at all, and it might even do more harm than anything.
With all this in mind, Jey might be one of the better choices for Oba to face in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament.
It will be quite interesting to see how things pan out regarding the match when both men face each other on Saturday at WWE Night of Champions.
