Trick Williams’ Feud with Carmelo Hayes and Ricky Saints Reaches Boiling Point on 6/12 SmackDown

Trick Williams won the WWE United States Championship on night 2 of WrestleMania: Vegas, beating Sami Zayn. Winning a championship four months after debuting on the main roster shows that WWE believes he can be a star. However, he continued to feud with him afterward.

That feud introduced Gingerbread Man, as well as Lil Yachty as his hype man. After weeks of antics, he retained at Backlash. But dealing with Gingerbread Man is nothing compared to what he’s had to deal with over the last couple of weeks.

When Ricky Saints made his main roster debut last month, he made an enemy early on in Carmelo Hayes. He was viewed as an obstacle, as Hayes wanted the WWE United States Championship.

But after their encounters, he decided he wanted in on the championship pursuit as well. For the past couple of weeks, the three men have been increasingly tangled in each other’s business. With Night of Champions coming up, would there be a resolution to make Williams’ championship match official?

Trick Williams Gets into a Major Brawl with Hayes and Saints

Williams currently has his hands full with Hayes and Saints, and for good reason. They want their chance at the US title, and he has an immense amount of history with them, dating back to NXT. The story of him and Hayes has been relayed countless times. Hayes immediately had success, but it took a while for Williams to reach that success as well. When that happened, Hayes betrayed him, and a brutal feud sent Hayes to the main roster.

Saints’ history with him is much less detailed, but it is significant to mention. They started a feud before Halloween Havoc, where Saints defeated him to retain the NXT Championship. Two weeks later, they had a Last Man Standing match where Saints won again, and he was sent to the main roster. Fast forward to now, and their animosity still hasn’t cooled down.

There have been countless matches with interference over the past few weeks. Now, with Night of Champions just two weeks away, Trick Williams was ready to have a serious conversation with both of them. He talked to the audience on the June 12, 2026, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, disappointed that he lost the King of the Ring qualifier last Friday. But he said that he was still the United States Champion.

Before he could say anything else, Saints’ music played, with Hayes’ music coming afterward. Hayes shoved Saints as he went to the ring, yelling at Williams. Saints were briefly interrupted, demanding a microphone, but were cut off before any words were spoken. Hayes compared Trick Williams to Dr. Seuss, citing his catchphrase use, then demanded to know if he or Saints would challenge for the US title.

Saints interrupted, saying that since he beat him last Friday, he should be the number one contender. Hayes said that he and Williams were the match before the Saints got involved. Saints again responded with the fact that he beat him. That led to the two of them arguing in the ring.

Trick Williams yelled at them to break it up, saying that it didn’t matter who he would face since he would be the winner. He proposed a match between the two of them to determine who would face him at Night of Champions.

After that, he started to leave the ring, but not before Saints shoved Hayes into him. The two of them started punching each other, with Hayes delivering a Dirty Diana. Trick Williams jumped back in the ring, sending Hayes into the turnbuckle.

He then delivered a Book End to Saints, leaving him the only one left standing. No matter who wins the match, Hayes and Saints will definitely give it their all. But until then, Williams is still the WWE United States Champion.
