Mason Rook made a statement when signing his NXT contract
NXT General Manager Robert Stone was in the ring with a contract. He confirmed the landscape of NXT has changed. Talents from all over the world want to make NXT their home. Stone brought out Mason Rook. He presented himself, said it’s pretty hard not to notice a flying human tank. He added he wants more. Whoever steps in the ring will find out that when you step in front of a tank, you get crushed.
Tony D’Angelo now had Rook’s attention. You started at the top, attacked him once, and seized the moment. Twice, not so much. “If you think you are going to make your name at my expense,” said D’Angelo. Kam Hendrix attacked the NXT Champion from behind. Rook hit a moonsault onto security. Rook signed the contract as Stone told him that wasn’t how they do it.
Noam Dar is back and defeated
Noam Dar is officially back, but his return was spoiled by none other than “Doctor Thirst” Jackson Drake. Supernova 11 looked like his old self early on, delivering a hellacious pump kick that sent Drake tumbling into the arms of the Vanity Project. The numbers game proved to be too much for Dar to overcome as Myka Lockwood grabbed a hold of him, allowing Drake to clock him with a knee and hit a match-ending 450 Splash. DarkState arrived and knocked The Vanity Project into Myka Lockwood’s arms.

Kendal, Kelani, Lola, and Izzi
Kendal Grey brought her hyper-intense grappling skills to Kelani Jordan immediately, but the former gymnast matched the intensity with a series of chops and verbal lashings. Grey started to build momentum, but couldn’t find the winning fall or submission as Jordan’s resilience started to show.
Out of nowhere, a brawl between NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice and Izzi Dame spilled into the ringside area, inadvertently taking out an already injured Wren Sinclair. That distracted Grey long enough for Jordan to knock her off the top rope and hit her signature One of a Kind Moonsault to win the match. After the match, Vice checked on Sinclair, but Grey pushed Vice. Izzi Dame attacked Vice from behind and posed with the title.

Nygma Says
This episode didn’t work for me. Because there’s everything to build up against, the matches were lost in a mess of words and attacks. As always, the NXT ladies did a brilliant job in the ring. Naraku’s devilishness is not something new if you are an NJPW fan.
NXT is in a rebuilding time. The new talents bring new opportunities, contenders, and feuds. It’s a “new” roster that, for the moment, has been trying to bring it together. The time for title chances and Championship matches will come once everything and everyone has found their place.
Well, this new era of NXT is as exciting as it can be surprising. I’ll see you next week as I keep on exploring the NXT world through the NXTNA “cold war.” Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
