WWE SmackDown Results (5/1/26):
This round of WWE SmackDown results for May 1, 2026, begins with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as he welcomes the WWE Universe from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Friday Night SmackDown, as he marches his way to the ring to speak to them.
Rhodes had amazing news for the WWE Universe, saying he’s now medically cleared, which begs the question: Who’s next? Well, a man who could be next is the “Absolute One” Ricky Saints, as he makes his SmackDown debut to confront Cody.

Rhodes immediately called out Saints, asking what’s changed since he last stepped up to Cody? Ricky said he’s different now, and he’s here to “relieve” Rhodes of his duties as Undisputed WWE Champion.
Cody Rhodes took it as a challenge, asking Ricky Saints if he wants to throw down tonight, and Saints is more than ready for it. Saints stated that he’s not here to change the show, but who it’s about, and he’s going to do that. Rhodes said he’s easy to find, but hard to beat, setting up a showdown for tonight.
Charlotte Flair vs. Jacy Jayne
Charlotte Flair, accompanied by Alexa Bliss, walks to the ring as she has an axe to grind with Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne as they go one-on-one. Jayne would dig into the Tulsa crowd while telling everyone that she and Fatal Influence are looking to take over SmackDown, and it begins by beating the legend Charlotte Flair.
The two women at it on this night, with Jayne proving to be hanging just fine with the former 14-time WWE Women’s Champion. Unfortunately for Jayne, she got too cocky, and Flair capitalized.
Towards the end of this battle, Flair would catch Jayne in the Figure-8 Leg Lock. Jayne was on the verge of tapping, but with the referee distracted, Fallon Henley would pull on Flair’s hands, causing her to collapse. Jacy Jayne would use this to hit the Rolling Encore to score her first and biggest win on SmackDown.
Fatal Influence, like a pack of wild dogs, beat down Bliss and Flair before WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley would make the save.
Backstage
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella and Paige were asked about Fatal Influence, and they remarked that they’ll deal with it as time goes on, but tonight they’re focused on their title defense.
- We see WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth and Damian Priest backstage, getting ready for tonight as they defend the title against Fraxiom.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Next on this WWE SmackDown results, it’s the unlikely champions, R-Truth and Damian Priest, putting their title up for grabs against former NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom.
Nathan Frazer and Axiom gave Damian Priest and R-Truth more than they bargained for, as the champions were not prepared for the aerial assault of Axiom. But somehow, like they have since becoming WWE Tag Team Champions, Truth and Priest managed to defend and exceed expectations.
With R-Truth worn out, Priest went absolute beast mode, swatting away the aerial artists. Priest would finish the match with a South of Heaven Chokeslam on Frazier, and deliver a Razor’s Edge on Axiom to remain #AndSTILL WWE Tag Team Champions.
Post-match, Talla Tonga and Solo Sikoa would beat all four teams down, making a statement that they’re coming for the WWE Tag Team Titles.
Solo Sikoa Speaks
Solo Sikoa and Talla Tonga remained in the ring, issuing a threat to Jacob Fatu, saying he’s a “dead man” if he ever shows his face at SmackDown, still having a bone to pick with Fatu after their battle last week on Friday nights. Before Sikoa can continue, The Usos would once again roll up to WWE SmackDown.
Jimmy and Jey made it crystal clear that Sikoa should get his hands off Jacob Fatu under the orders of Roman Reigns, and if he doesn’t, there will be dire consequences. Sikoa would laugh it off and unleash Talla Tonga on The Usos.
Sikoa would inform The Usos that Reigns isn’t his tribal chief, and he doesn’t care what he thinks, and Fatu still has a target on his back.
Cody Rhodes vs. Ricky Saints
Ricky Saints tries to make a huge impact as he accepts the challenge of Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in his SmackDown debut. Before the match, it was reported that The Usos would take on Solo Sikoa and Talla Tonga.
The two had one heck of a match, with Ricky Saints even coming close to beating Rhodes with the Revolution DDT. However, Rhodes was too much to handle, and with one mistake, Rhodes had Saints, hitting the Cross Rhodes, spoiling Saints’ SmackDown debut.
Post-match, Cody Rhodes had a nasty surprise waiting for him.
Danhausen Celebrates With The WWE Universe
Danhausen came out to disperse free WWE merch to celebrate with his Fanhausens, but before the party could get truly started, The Miz would enter the ring and apologize to Danhausen, saying he admits that he’s cursed. This reconciliation was cut short when Kit Wilson opposed this idea, saying he is Miz’s mentor.
Miz and Kit would go at it on the mic for a while, until it was unveiled, it was all a trick, as they “cursed” Danhausen and beat him down, finally exacting their revenge.
Royce Keys vs. Angel
The 2026 Andre the Giant Battle Royal winner, Royce Keys, takes on the tag team partner of the man he beat in his debut, Angel. Angel had zero chance, as Royce Keys overwhelmed him, highlighted by Middle Rope Powerslam and ending with an Ultimate Spinebuster to further his winning streak.
Backstage, we saw Jacob Fatu congratulate Royce Keys before getting assaulted by Solo Sikoa as promised.
Sami Zayn Airs Out His Grievances
Former U.S. Champion Sami Zayn spilled his guts out, saying that despite appreciating the “Sami Zayn diehards,” he felt disrespected and that he sees no reason why Trick Williams is considered remarkable compared to him.
Zayn would go haywire and destroy Gingy the Gingerbread Man before Trick Williams would run to the ring and rain down on Zayn, sending the Canadian hightailing out of the arena.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match
The Irresistible Forces look to reclaim the titles, as Paige and Brie Bella take on their toughest yet with an old-school tag team match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Nia Jax and Lash Legend absolutely dominated most of this match, so that not even a hot tag from Paige could stop the onslaught of the Irresistible Forces.
But Jax and Legend would not be ready for the sheer experience of Brie and Paige. With Jax looking to end the match, Paige would chop the monster’s legs from under her, as Brie Bella would fall on Jax, apply pressure, and score the pin in a close call to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
The Usos vs. Solo Sikoa & Talla Tonga
For the main event of the evening and to round out this WWE SmackDown results, The Usos take on MFT, Solo Sikoa and Talla Tonga. Solo Sikoa had a heck of a time whipping his big brothers, armed by a massive monster in the form of Talla Tonga, as they unleashed on The Usos.
Even when The Usos could tag each other in to execute their plan, Sikoa and Talla had it tonight and could ward off that onslaught. Talla Tonga would set up the announcer’s table, threatening to use it against The Usos before Jacob Fatu showed up and attacked him, resulting in a disqualification.
Fatu would go for Sikoa, locking in the Tongan Death Grip. Fatu would hit a Suicide Dive on Talla Tonga. Talla would fight back, but Fatu would have him in the Tongan Death Grip in no time, on top of the steel steps set up near the announcer’s table. Jacob Fatu would hit a Samoan Drop, crushing Talla Tonga through the table.
Fatu would walk by The Usos, and got on the mic on the ramp, asking them to send a message to Roman Reigns: he will dogwalk him at WWE Backlash to end the night.
WWE SmackDown Results Post-Show Review (5/1/26):
We’re going to lead off by rating this show a 6.5/10. Similar to last week’s edition, it wasn’t bad, but it was definitely a step down. WWE packed this show with a lot of stuff, but somehow, not much landed. Jacy Jayne and Fatal Influence continue to be a highlight, as the company made the right call and had Jayne beat Charlotte Flair in her first real match, further establishing her as a real threat to the WWE Women’s Title, as well as Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley to the doubles titles.
But unlike his former NXT co-stars, Ricky Saints’ debut was relegated as a plot point to the main story WWE was planning all along. Starks should’ve had a more memorable first night on SmackDown, and he did when he confronted Cody Rhodes at the beginning of the show.
Their match was not stellar, but it was fine, with both men’s history with one another showing. All that goodwill was out the door as not only did Rhodes beat Ricky, it was overshadowed by Gunther choking out Cody Rhodes, rendering Saints’ debut basically nothing as a “new guy” in the mid-card. Saints deserved so much better, and we hope they remedy this quickly by having him in better programs similar to Trick Williams.
From one former AEW star to the next, Royce Keys had another squash victory over Angel this time, and backstage, they still kept teasing the MFT alignment. Keys is a mastodon; he should be in a better storyline than this. His debut was already delayed, and his biggest win to date was relegated to the SmackDown before WrestleMania. Let’s officially end this MFT tease and have Royce in the U.S. Title picture as soon as after Clash in Italy, possibly sooner, so they can capitalize on his potential.
The two tag team matches were pretty standard, and nobody expected them to change. Again, not bad but not remarkable. Going back to Trick Williams, this feud with Sami Zayn needs to end ASAP. It was dead on arrival when it started, and especially when Carmelo Hayes wasn’t added to the mix to spice it up. There’s no doubt Trick is retaining at Backlash, mercifully ending this feud that does no man any favors.
Another high note was the Danhausen segments. It’s actually surprising WWE has asked Danhausen to perform in the ring more than most expected. At Backlash, it’s going to be a fun match against The Miz, Kit Wilson and whichever mystery partner Danhausen enlists.
Jacob Fatu continues to be an amazing monster tweener, as well as Solo Sikoa proving to everyone that he should not be in Bloodline offshoots, because these two men are the unsung stars of that stable. Fatu is getting his opportunity, and Sikoa should get his sooner rather than later without getting bogged down by the continuous rehashing of The Bloodline storyline from four to 5 years ago.
That’s all for REAL-TIME WWE SmackDown results for May 1, 2026, as they happened in the BOK Center, live from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
