TNA X-Division Title Match – Leon Slater (c) vs. The System’s Cedric Alexander
- No better opener than an X-Division match. Cedric Alexander is coming alone, but that doesn’t mean the System couldn’t be involved. Leon Slater is a record breaker. Can he break Austin Aries’ 13-year record as the longest reigning X-Division Champion?
- Classic mat wrestling to start. Slater unloads a roundhouse kick and a handspring elbow. Outside the ring, Slater avoids the steps and hits a hurricanrana on Alexander. So fast and furious. Here comes the lariats and the punches in the corner. Alexander cuts him off. Fabulous leg drop on the apron from Slater, but huge clothesline and backbreaker on Slater on the apron.
- Back in the ring, a released German Suplex on Slater. Slater holds his neck. Alexander targets the neck now. Slater attacks outside. Another German suplex from Alexander. Headlock on Slater. Alexander is nasty. Slater is disoriented. Slater unleashes a huge kick. Slater continues with a roundhouse kick. Another huge kick in the corner on Alexander. BIG PLAY SLATER!!
- Fabulous shot, two-count. Alexander replies with a kick. Michinoku Driver by Alexander. Styles Clash countered. Clothesline as Slater was on the ropes. Brainbuster from Alexander. TWO AND A HALF! Alexander sets Slater on the top rope. Brainbuster on the turnbuckle. LUMBAR CHECK! LEON HAS A FOOT ON THE ROPE. Incredible.
- Alexander is furious. NOT THE BELT. STYLES CLASH ON THE TITLE BY SLATER. SWANTON 450!! I LOVE LEON SLATER. Fabulous match. Maybe Slater used Alexander’s trick to win, but Alexander failed when he tried to cheat.
- On May 15, as Thursday Night iMPACT will be live, Leon Slater could become the longest reigning X-Division Champion.
