5 WWE Stars in Danger of Missing WrestleMania 42 and How They Can Make it

  1. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins made a shocking return at this year’s Elimination Chamber, revealed as the mastermind behind the masked men who cost Logan Paul the match. Since then, despite not being officially medically cleared, many fans have been left wondering what the ultimate plan is for “The Visionary” as he looks to dismantle The Vision.

It appears that WWE is banking on Bron Breakker to make a miraculous recovery from hernia surgery in time for WrestleMania, and there is growing optimism that this will be the case. If Breakker is cleared to return, it sets up a high-intensity bout that could be billed as the ultimate “Grudge Match” that fans have been waiting months to see.

If Breakker isn’t cleared in time, Gunther is a fascinating alternative for WWE, especially if Rey Mysterio is also sidelined. This would be a true special attraction match, as the two have only faced off twice in singles action: once during Gunther’s 2019 Raw debut as WALTER, and again in a 2023 SmackDown dark match.

The compelling angle WWE could pursue is built on the fallout of Rollins’ brutal assault on Paul Heyman. Since “The Visionary” managed to escape one beast in Brock Lesnar, Heyman could pivot his focus toward Gunther, potentially enlisting the “Ring General” to secure the cold, calculated revenge that Lesnar couldn’t deliver.

While things appear to be in limbo for these five superstars, there is still a clear path for creative to involve them in “The Showcase of the Immortals.” WWE utilizing these scenarios would do more than introduce a fresh face like Royce Keys; it would offer each of them a legitimate shot at a “WrestleMania Moment,” the ultimate prize that every aspiring wrestler dreams of achieving.
