3.WrestleMania 31 (Levi’s Stadium)
WrestleMania 31 took place on a picture-perfect day at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers. While the build-up for this event was historically criticized as being lackluster, the show featured a number of high-caliber matches that more than delivered on the big stage.
The opener set a frantic pace as the Intercontinental Championship ladder match delivered several brutal moments, ultimately resulting in Daniel Bryan emerging victorious to the delight of the crowd. Another major highlight was the singles match between Randy Orton and Seth Rollins, featuring the “RKO Head ‘Round the World” where Orton intercepted Rollins in mid-air just as he attempted to land a Curb Stomp.
Later in the night, Triple H battled Sting in Sting’s long-awaited WWE debut, a match that featured surprise interference from both D-Generation X and the nWo. In his first WrestleMania appearance since his Streak was broken, The Undertaker defeated Bray Wyatt in a bout defined by master storytelling.
However, the night’s most iconic moment came during the main event between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, as Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract mid-match in for the “Heist of the Century,” turning the title match into a Triple Threat and capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in one of the greatest finishes in WrestleMania history.
