On this week’s WWE SmackDown, the Irresistible Forces, Lash Legend and Nia Jax, were out and about in the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, celebrating their massive victory on last week’s Friday Night Fight Night against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley in an extremely close title match. For WrestleMania 42, Legend and Jax made it known that they will accept any challengers that may come their way, bringing in the likes of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, as well as Women’s United States Champion Giulia and her representative, Kiana James.
Both sides made compelling points on why they should be the ones up first, with Bliss and Flair saying that they might still be WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions if it weren’t for the Irresistible Forces costing them the titles in the first place. Out comes Giulia and Kiana James. Kiana would say that she’s done more in the month than Bliss and Flair combined, bundled up with the fact that Giulia is already the U.S. Women’s Champion.
Of course, since this is SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis wanted them to settle it in the ring, sanctioning an impromptu number one contender’s match to determine who will face Nia Jax and Lash Legend for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 42.

The match was pretty even throughout, but Bliss and Flair had gears that James and Giulia did not have. Flair was hitting Moonsaults and Spears, while Alexa Bliss would hit Kiana James with a Tornado DDT to take her out of the equation. With the heart of a champion, Charlotte Flair would hit her patented Natural Selection and pin Giulia to secure the number one contender’s slot for her and Alexa Bliss in Las Vegas at WrestleMania 42.
Bliss and Flair might actually have the advantage when it comes to this match, considering they’ve been part of a lot of marquee WrestleMania matches. That said, you can’t teach raw strength, and the Irresistible Forces have that in spades.
