5. John Cena vs. Carlito vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Masters vs. Kane vs. Kurt Angle (New Year’s Revolution 2006)
New Year’s Revolution 2006 was the first time that the WWE Championship was defended in an Elimination Chamber match. John Cena, Carlito, Chris Masters, and Kurt Angle were debutants in this match. However, former WWE Champions Kane and Shawn Michaels had experience in Chamber matches. Surprisingly, Angle was the first one to be eliminated, but days later, he jumped ship to SmackDown and won the World Heavyweight Championship.
Carlito and Masters were stars of the match. They worked as a cohesive unit and cleaned out the house. However, Carlito eliminated the Masterpiece. In a matter of seconds, Cena snuck up behind Carlito and rolled him up to retain the WWE Championship. Just like McIntyre in 2021, Cena fell victim to a Money in the Bank cash-in with Edge defeating a battered and bloodied Cena to win his first WWE Championship.
4. Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Christian vs. Sheamus vs. Cesaro vs. John Cena (Elimination Chamber 2014)
On the final pitstop on the road to WrestleMania 30, Randy Orton defended the WWE Championship in an Elimination Chamber in 2014. Fans were desperate for Daniel Bryan to win, but the likes of John Cena, Christian, Cesaro, and Sheamus had other ideas to spoil the party. The Wyatt Family interfered by attacking Cena, and fans salivated at Cena’s assault by chanting, “Thank you, Wyatt.”
Orton took advantage and eliminated Cena. Fans went crazy when Bryan was in the final two with the Viper. Bryan showed some fight by kicking out of one RKO, but he was unable to kick out of a second after Kane clocked Bryan in the face, allowing Orton to retain the WWE Championship.
