3. Triple H vs. Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. Chris Benoit vs. Edge vs. Chris Jericho (New Year’s Revolution 2005)
Shawn Michaels oversaw proceedings as the special guest referee in the Elimination Chamber match for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at New Year’s Revolution 2005. This was the first Elimination Chamber match to take place outside of North America, with the fans in San Juan, Puerto Rico, having a great time witnessing the Chamber live. Nevertheless, despite Triple H being the heel, the fans were cheering for him.
The plot between Evolution stablemates Triple H and Batista heated up before the match. However, the match was outstanding with several wrestlers wearing the proverbial crimson mask. Randy Orton eliminated his former Evolution stablemate Batista with an RKO. The Game could’ve saved the Animal, but he opted not to when he got up and sat back down in the corner. Ultimately, Triple H triumphed for the second time in an Elimination Chamber match, capturing his 10th World Championship with a Pedigree at Orton’s expense.
2. John Cena vs. Edge vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Mike Knox vs. Kane vs. Chris Jericho (No Way Out 2009)
Edge dropped the WWE Championship in the first Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out 2009. However, the Rated-R Superstar was desperate, and he was not going to leave No Way Out without a World Championship. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and Edge stole Kofi Kingston’s spot by attacking him from behind when Kingston was about to enter the Chamber for the World Heavyweight Championship.
John Cena defended the title, making history as the first man to defend both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships in an Elimination Chamber match. This match was off the charts, and Edge got the better of his rival, Cena, by eliminating him with a Spear. A new World Heavyweight Champion was guaranteed. Edge and Mysterio battled back and forth, but the Rated-R Superstar seized the opportunity by overcoming Mysterio to become an eight-time World Champion. Edge’s history-making night saw him become the first man to compete in two Elimination Chamber matches in one night.
