1. Four WWE Stars Have Gone on to Win a World Title at WrestleMania After Winning their Elimination Chamber Number One Contender’s Match
Since 2008, WWE has featured Elimination Chamber matches on the road to WrestleMania. However, the conversion rate of wrestlers who win their number one contender Elimination Chamber matches and go on to win their respective world championship matches at WrestleMania is low. Only four out of 12 wrestlers who triumphed in number one contender Elimination Chamber matches prevailed in world title matches at the Showcase of the Immortals.
The Undertaker was the first to achieve this in 2008 when he defeated Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 24. Triple H, John Cena in 2011, Jack Swagger, Roman Reigns, and Shayna Baszler failed to win their respective world title matches after prevailing in their number one contender’s Elimination Chamber matches.
Bianca Belair defeated Becky Lynch for the WWE (RAW) Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38 after winning her Elimination Chamber match. However, the men have found success in the past couple of years with Drew McIntyre winning his Chamber match and defeating Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship in the curtain-raiser of WrestleMania 40 Sunday.
A year later, Cena clinched his record-breaking 17th world championship when he defeated Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 41 Sunday.
