The Road to WrestleMania 42 is officially underway, as on Monday night, Roman Reigns kicked things off with his announcement that he has chosen to face CM Punk for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in Las Vegas. Reigns vs Punk is a huge main event and one that comes with a lot of heat, animosity, and history (you can read all about it here). That said, WWE still has the rest of the card to fill out with at least three more world title matches to be determined. Liv Morgan has yet to decide who she’ll challenge, though her decision to hold up the WWE Women’s Championship after taking down Stephanie Vaquer could be an indication of where she’s leaning.
Elimination Chamber to Decide Drew McIntyre’s WrestleMania Challenger
We now know that the winner of the Men’s Elimination Chamber will earn the right to face WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania, and whoever of Jade Cargill or Stephanie Vaquer Morgan doesn’t pick, will face off against the winner of the women’s match.
Without indicating who would be taking part for a chance to get inside the chambers, WWE announced that next Monday on Raw will begin the qualifying matches for February’s trip to Chicago for the Elimination Chamber. Perhaps more details will be revealed on Friday on SmackDown, especially now that McIntyre knows he has a huge stake in how this match shakes out. And given what McIntyre did at the Rumble, there is no question his imprint will be on the chamber match as well.
