We are on the eve of the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble, and the wrestling world is waiting with bated breath. We have entered into WWE’s biggest season, if they had a season. From now until WrestleMania, the company puts its best foot forward and throws everything it has behind the product. We are in the midst of some fantastic programming, and it all starts at the Royal Rumble.
WWE hasn’t bogged down the Royal Rumble with many matches, with the card only featuring four contests. Each one, though, promises to be a highlight of the night and will give us some great ammunition as we head on the road to WrestleMania.
The four matches that are being presented are going to be fantastic contests. They will set the table for WrestleMania and show the world who will be leading WWE into their sweeps. There are only four wrestlers who can claim victory at the Royal Rumble, and the world has been debating who they will be. Let’s take our turn and predict who will walk away victorious at the Royal Rumble.
Career-Threatening Match: Gunther vs AJ Styles
The program between these two men is only a few weeks old, but it has contained the intensity that WWE so desires when promoting a match. Styles has Gunther dead to rights in his calf-crusher finish before the Ring General got creative and eked out the victory. It was a great move and one that led us to this intense showdown in Saudi Arabia.
Chemistry will not be a problem between these two men. They have shown that they can craft a compelling match, and now that Style’s career is on the line, that’s going to get ramped up. We will see some great wrestling and even better storytelling as Gunther tries to add another notch on his belt.
It’s hard to think that AJ Styles’ career is going to be over this year, but that’s the reality that we are dealing with. It’s even harder to think that it’s going to be over already, and this writer doesn’t think that’s going to be the case.

We are just now hearing about Styles’ career coming to an end, and WWE hasn’t squeezed the life out of it yet. AJ Styles had Gunther tapping out once before, and this time the referee is going to see the submission. Styles isn’t done just yet.
Winner: AJ Styles
