3. Bray Wyatt Vs. Daniel Bryan – 2014 & 2020
Fans desperately wanted Daniel Bryan to compete in the 2014 Royal Rumble match, but that failed to materialize. Bryan had his hands full with the leader of the Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt. They knocked it out of the park in an excellent wrestling match. The duo got the show off to a red-hot start.
Ultimately, the Eater of Worlds prevailed with a couple of Sister Abigails. Bryan’s popularity was at an all-time high, causing the 2014 Royal Rumble match to have a soundtrack of a chorus of boos in the background with his absence from the titular bout.
Six years later, at the 2020 Royal Rumble, Wyatt and Bryan clashed. This time, it was in a strap match for the Universal Championship. Furthermore, Wyatt competed in his Fiend gimmick, and Bryan’s locks were no more as he sported a short haircut. Again, it was another solid match between the two world champions, but just like the result in 2014, Wyatt overcame the American Dragon to retain the Universal Championship.
