1. Ric Flair – 1992
The 1992 Royal Rumble match was the first Rumble to have a stipulation. The vacant WWE Championship was up for grabs. Furthermore, the ’92 Rumble is widely-regarded as the greatest Royal Rumble match in history. Nevertheless, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair was one of the reasons why the WWE Championship was vacant. He aided The Undertaker in beating Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series 1991.
Naitch had to take the scenic route to win the 1992 Royal Rumble match as he entered third—Hogan, The Undertaker, Ted DiBiase, Roddy Piper, Shawn Michaels, Jake Roberts, Sgt. Slaughter and Randy Savage were some of the big names who were looking to win the WWE Championship.

Ultimately, Flair made history by becoming the first man to endure over one hour in a Royal Rumble match. With outside distraction from Hogan, Flair eliminated Sid Justice to win his first WWE Championship and the 1992 Royal Rumble match. His performance is one of the best by a debutant in a Royal Rumble match.
