TNA Genesis Preview (01/17/2026) – How to Watch, Card, Predictions

NXT vs TNA Matches

Say his name and he appears. NXT’s Joe Hendry will compete in TNA Wrestling for the first time since October when he battles Moose and Cedric Alexander in a Triple Threat match at Genesis. TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater was forced to withdraw from the match due to visa issues.

He was set to appear, but Joe Hendry will now compete at Genesis. Whatever happens here, it’s about who is the true contender for the X-Division Championship. And Nygma says, Cedric Alexander deserves the spot.

Due to visa issues, Dani Luna is unable to challenge Léi Ying Lee for the TNA Knockouts World Championship. However, being the fighting champion that she is, Lee would issue an open challenge on the premiere of Thursday Night iMPACT! On AMC, which was answered by NXT’s Zaria. Now, Léi Ying Lee and Zaria are set to clash at Genesis with the coveted TNA Knockouts World Title on the line.

I desperately wanted to see Luna vs. Lee. I also wanted to see Sol Ruca and Zaria on TNA iMPACT. The big question here is: May Zaria do in TNA what Sol Ruca did in NXT? Being a double Champion? That could make sense. Nygma says, If Fatal Influence and WrenQCC are in the arena, a DQ will be on the menu. So, Lee retains.

TNA Championship Matches

At TNA Final Resolution, The Righteous made their jaw-dropping arrival in TNA Wrestling as they confronted The Hardys, leading to series of cryptic mind games with the TNA World Tag Team Champions. The Hardys made one thing abundantly clear: they’re not here to play mind games, they’re here to fight! And with that, the TNA World Tag Team Titles will be up for grabs at TNA Genesis as The Righteous challenge The Hardys in a blockbuster showdown.

This match is everything but appealing. Nygma says, The Hardys retain. Period.

On the premiere of Thursday Night iMPACT! On AMC, Mike Santana dethroned Frankie Kazarian to reclaim the TNA World Championship. Moments later, Santana would fend off an opportunistic Nic Nemeth who attempted to call his shot. As revealed by Director of Authority Santino Marella and TNA Official Daria Rae, Santana and Kazarian will collide in a Texas Death Match with Call Your Shot Trophy holder Nic Nemeth serving as the Special Guest Referee.

Mike Santana may find himself cumulating short reigns. The Texas Death Match is for him. With Nic Nemeth as the referee, there could be a match after the match. Nygma says, Sadly, whoever wins, Nemeth will have the final word.

The unexpected ninth

After being betrayed by his daughter, Arianna Grace, Marella has retaliated by putting her fiancé, Stacks, in a four-way bout with his TNA International Championship up for grabs.

Challenging for the title will be Eric Young, B.D.E. and a mystery opponent who made their name in the great state of Texas. In a match where he doesn’t have to be pinned to lose the title, the odds are certainly stacked against the champion.

I let you come to me with your Genesis predictions. Opinions are meant to be shared and compared. I’ll see you very soon. I’ll be with you live on Saturday night, well, Sunday morning. Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
