2. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch – Royal Rumble 2019
As mentioned previously, Asuka and Becky Lynch’s clash at the Royal Rumble over the women’s world championship occurred at back-to-back Rumbles. Their clash at the 2019 Royal Rumble opened up the show. The women had their working boots on at the 2019 Royal Rumble, and Asuka and Lynch’s match didn’t fail to disappoint. However, the Man was desperate to get her hands back on SmackDown’s top prize after losing her title to Asuka in a Triple Threat match at TLC 2018, all thanks to outside interference from Raw’s top women’s world champion, Ronda Rousey.
Lynch was a woman on a mission, and she had that look in her eye where nothing was going to stop her from being a women’s world champion again. However, the Empress of Tomorrow is a fighter, and she forced Lynch to submit to a modified version of the Asuka Lock. They hit a home run in a superb women’s world championship match, and the Man didn’t hide her disappointment afterward.
