The road to TNA Genesis 2026 and Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC continues with the last TNA iMPACT on AXS TV. Next week, TNA Thursday Night iMPACT will air on AMC in the US. If you think everything is about to change, you’re wrong. Nothing will change; TNA Wrestling takes back its rightful place on a major cable US TV channel. The fans, the talents, the Knockouts, our favourite announcers: nothing changes.
Last night, on NXT New Year’s Evil, Leon Slater failed at becoming NXT Champion. The match was fabulous, but Oba Femi shocked the world as he vacated the NXT Championship. Also, Stacks will defend the TNA International Championship next week against Shiloh Hill, but if he retains against Steve Maclin on TNA iMPACT.
Crossing the lines also means crossing the reviews. NXT may be a WWE show; taking a look at what happens on Tuesday nights has become essential to understanding what may happen on Thursday nights. That’s never been truer, and it keeps on being bigger and bigger. Let’s Nygma-dive into it.

TNA iMPACT Preview (01/08/26) – The Stakes at TNA Wrestling
TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian comes face-to-face with Mike Santana for a TNA World Championship contract signing. After announcing that their World Title showdown has been moved to January 15, on the Thursday Night iMPACT live premiere on AMC, tensions are at a boiling point. With emotions running high, will this contract signing stay civil?
Matt and Jeff Hardy kick off the show following weeks of disturbing mind games from The Righteous. The reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions have made it clear that they are finished with riddles and are ready for a fight.
The TNA International Championship is on the line when Stacks defends against former champion Steve Maclin. With Arianna Grace aligned with Stacks and declaring independence from her father, Santino Marella, Maclin remains relentless in his pursuit of gold. Plus, if Stacks can retain, he will defend against Shiloh Hill next Tuesday on NXT.

With JDC’s Final Dance looming at Genesis, he will compete alongside his System allies one last time. Standing in their way are TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater, Cedric Alexander, and the reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions Matt and Jeff Hardy. Who will capture the momentum heading into a new era?
Following Mustafa Ali’s decisive victory over The Home Town Man and his match with Elijah quickly approaching, Order 4 takes center stage to address TNA Genesis. With Ali’s agenda becoming clearer by the week, what does Order 4 have planned as TNA Wrestling approaches its first pay-per-view of 2026?
After last week’s shocking attack on TNA Knockouts World Champion Léi Ying Lee, Dani Luna steps into the ring against Harley Hudson. Luna sent a powerful message by yanking Lee from the apron and driving her into the steel ring post, allowing The Elegance Brand to steal a victory. With Lee undergoing evaluation, Luna looks to capitalize on the chaos, but Hudson is determined to prove she belongs in the Knockouts spotlight.
Order 4 will address #TNAGenesis THURSDAY at 8/7c on @AXSTV, TNA+ and @Sportsnet 360 as @MustafaAli_X prepares to take on @_Iam_Elijah_ on January 17 in Dallas. #TNAiMPACT pic.twitter.com/GEV1zaQSWR

TNA iMPACT Preview (01/08/26) – The Nygma’s View
With three matches and three segments, the card for the episode may seem a bit low, surely because of the upcoming changes. The road to TNA Genesis 2026 will have a special stop with the first Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC episode two days before the PLE. In 2025, TNA planted some seeds of good omens. In 2026, they will turn into a field of successes.
The Matches
Dani Luna faces Harley Hudson. As unhinged as she currently is, whether Luna wins or not, she will attack Hudson after the match. She wants to get the attention of Léi Ying Lee. The only way for her to have a TNA Knockouts World title match is for her to continue her lunatic path. Nygma says: Please, make the match at TNA Genesis to calm Luna and make sure no one else will be hurt.
Last week, The System wanted one ultimate match together, as JDC is retiring at TNA Genesis. Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, Moose, and JDC will face TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater, TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys, and Cedric Alexander. Nygma says: Whoever wins, that will be one hell of a great match (JDC, don’t go…).
Steve Maclin will have his rematch from TNA Final Resolution, facing Stacks for the TNA International Championship. Stacks means Arianna Grace and the NXT Outlaws. Nygma says: I am a big fan of Steve Maclin, so I wish him to win the title back. Then, six renegades can come out of nowhere and change the fate of the match. A DQ is the only result we can expect, which would mean no title changing hands.
TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys kick off #TNAiMPACT THURSDAY at 8/7c on @AXSTV, TNA+ and @Sportsnet 360.

The Segments
The Hardys kick off TNA iMPACT. There’s no need to have a crystal ball to understand they will talk about TNA on AMC. In fact, they could, but The Righteous are currently their biggest problem. Dutch and Vincent are probably the Mind Games World Champions. Nygma says: If they want a TNA World Tag Team title match, please, make it.
Mustafa Ali and Order 4 will address TNA Genesis. In case you didn’t know it, Ali faces Elijah on January 17. We more or less know what Ali has to say; he will win. Then, how will Elijah reply? Nygma says: A guitar? A horse? A horse named Guitar? A horse-shaped guitar? No horse has to be thrown on the back of any wrestler, unlike the guitar.
Mika Santana and TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian will sign the contract for next week’s title match. I suppose TNA Director of Authority, Santino Marella, will preside (if he resurrects from the sluggishness he was in last week). The most interesting here is not the match, but the next one. The TNA World Championship must be defended at TNA Genesis two days after. Nygma says: Can you hear Nic Nemeth’s ‘zip sound,’ like me?
I’ll see you on Friday. As I said last week, 2026 will be a loaded year for TNA Wrestling. Because of that, my year will be loaded, too. Next week will be a historic one. Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC and TNA Genesis offer so many reasons to write about TNA. Let’s be honest, as tired as I will be, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
