Je'Von Evans: A WWE Superstar in the Making

ICYMI: NXT Star Je’Von Evans Gets Raw Call-Up During Netflix Commercial Break

In case you missed it – and chances are you did, as it happened during a commercial break – Je’Von Evans is officially the newest member of Monday Night Raw. There’s not much of a surprise there as Evans has appeared on Raw in recent weeks, both in matches and backstage segments. Last week, his arrival on the red brand was hinted at when Evans told AJ Styles and Dragon Lee that Adam Pearce had called him to his office to talk about something. That something, of course, was Evans’ contract, which he formally signed Monday night in front of about 14,000 fans in Brooklyn, and whoever watching Raw was lucky enough to be in a region where commercials didn’t air.

Thankfully, WWE acknowledged this was a big moment for Je’Von Evans and clipped the video of him signing his contract. You can watch it in full below.

Who is Je’Von Evans?

Despite being just 21 years old, Je’Von Evans is already being touted for his incredible potential and out-of-this-world skillset. Evans made his pro wrestling debut on the indies in 2018 and was signed to NXT in 2023 after participating in an open tryout. Evans made his NXT debut a few months later, and he’s been lighting NXT on fire ever since. Evans ascended rapidly and just under a year after his debut, found himself competing for the NXT Championship against Oba Femi and Trick Williams. Evans started to become a known quantity at that point, taking part in matches for AAA and TNA as well as NXT, but it was his SmackDown debut that really opened eyes to his amazing talent.

While unsuccessful, Je’Von Evans answered Sami Zayn’s United States Championship Open Challenge, giving the WWE Universe, who may have previously been unfamiliar with his work, a chance to see him shine. And shine he did. If that match was a tryout of sorts, Evans passed with flying colors. In the weeks to follow, Evans worked another match on SmackDown, this time in tag team action alongside Rey Fenix, and represented Team NXT in their Survivor Series showdown against TNA. By November, Evans made his Raw debut, doing so as a competitor in the Last Time is Now tournament. Evans drew eventual-winner Gunther and, again, while he lost, truly showcased his ability in the process. Evans was not as undermatched or outgunned as many of Gunther’s opponents tend to look, a testament to his star power and in-ring acumen. Not many can hang with the Ring General, but Evans acquitted himself just fine. Another tryout aced.

Evans wrestled across SmackDown, Raw, and NXT, being declared a top free agent. He made his main roster special event debut at Saturday Night’s Main Event in a showcase match alongside TNA’s Leon Slater against AJ Styles and Dragon Lee. Evans was matched up with Gunther again for WWE’s Holiday house show tour in late December, before kicking off 2026 with a brand new chapter, as a member of the Monday Night Raw roster.
