5. JBL Vs. Big Show Vs. Kurt Angle – Royal Rumble 2005
JBL defended the WWE Championship against former multiple-time WWE Champions Big Show and Kurt Angle in a triple threat match at the 2005 Royal Rumble. As expected, the heels worked as a cohesive unit in a bid to remove the World’s Largest Athlete from the equation. Their plan worked temporarily as the Olympic Gold Medalist put Show through the broadcast table after clocking him in the head with a TV monitor.
With Show out of the picture, JBL and Angle went back-and-forth. However, Show refused to stay down for long as he rejoined the match. Show speared JBL through the barricade. Angle’s proteges, Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak, interfered by attacking Show. Nevertheless, Orlando Jordan threw JBL into the ring, and JBL connected with the Clothesline From Hell to Angle. He covered him to steal another win in a successful WWE Title defense.
