The men’s WarGames match last month at Survivor Series: WarGames ended with a controversial finish. A masked man climbed the cage, delivered a stomp to CM Punk, and then left. For weeks, everyone was wondering who that man was. On the December 15, 2025 episode of Monday Night Raw, the man was revealed to be Austin Theory.
The members of the Vision, especially Paul Heyman, were more shocked than anyone else. They clearly didn’t expect him to be under the mask. The next week, Theory talked to Heyman about showing what he could do to the faction. Heyman was very apprehensive, as he was still not truly understanding why he was the guy that helped them. Theory could be telling the truth about helping the Vision. But he could also have a hidden motivation in helping a certain someone until he returns to the ring.

Austin Theory Truly Wants to Be in The Vision
The main roster career of Theory has truly been a rollercoaster. He started out hot, as the company’s new “chosen one” in 2021. Over the next year, he won the United States Championship and the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. It was clear that the company thought of him as valuable. He then went on to be United States Champion for a second time. However, since he lost that title, things haven’t been looking up.
He had a partnership with Grayson Waller, but the duo never reached those heights. After an offscreen break up, his stock is the lowest it’s been in years. That’s why he wants to prove himself to the Vision. He wants to get his star power back and start winning championships. Attaching himself to the group can only help him as he reintroduces himself to the main roster audience.
Infiltrating The Vision for Seth Rollins
Rollins left WWE in horrible shape after being speared by Bron Breakker and hit with the Tsunami by Bronson Reed. It elevated Breakker and Reed, while writing off Rollins as he recovers from shoulder surgery. With him being out for months, how could he weaken the Vision while he’s not around?
Theory has history with him that many people might not remember. During the COVID pandemic, many wrestlers were switching brands, getting released, and filling in for wrestlers opting out. One of those was Theory, who was briefly with him and Murphy. It would make sense for Theory to be an informant to fill him in while he’s recovering. Theory also used the Stomp, paying homage to him while confusing Punk, who is one of his bitter rivals. Having him be the mole in the Vision could help Rollins gain an advantage when he returns.

When Will His True Intentions Be Known?
In professional wrestling, one of the most important things is timing. If something happens too early or late, it could ruin the whole story. There’s obviously a huge payoff coming with Theory’s story with the Vision. He could actually want to be part of the faction, or he’s only doing this to give Rollins an advantage.
It would be best for him to remain neutral until the most opportune time. That should be when Rollins is close to coming back, or when he actually does come back. Revealing his intentions early would ruin the angle and make people doubt him even more. This is more than likely his last chance to get over with the audience. If he times the reveal correctly, that will help his career rebound into the man he once was. Otherwise, he might have run out of chances to impress everyone.
