AEW Dynamite Results from AEW Dynamite/Collision Tonight (12/24/25)
Konosuke Takeshita defeated Orange Cassidy
Cassidy entered strongly, leaping towards Takeshita with quickness, employing a series of pin attempts with a close Crucifix Pin. Takeshita sent him down with a powerful kick. He slammed the Freshly Squeezed one on the ring apron. Cassidy rebounded with two DDTs. Cornering Takeshita, Cassidy unleashed a torrent of punches to Takeshita’s head. Despite a confident, hands-in-pocket dominance, Cassidy’s first dropkick didn’t faze Takeshita. A second one did the trick. Takeshita responded with a destructive Blue Thunderbomb.
A kick from Cassidy left Takeshita’s mouth a bloody mess. Takeshita regained momentum with a kick, later fracturing him with a German suplex. Thanks to an Orange Punch, Takeshita lay crumpled on the mat. Struggling on the ring apron, Cassidy managed a Beach Break, crushing Takeshita’s neck on the apron. Outside, another Orange Punch sent Takeshita over the barricade and into the crowd. Cassidy returned to sneaking pin attempts. Takshita survived, dashing Cassidy’s hopes with a Raging Fire for the win.
(Crisp 20-minute bout. Cassidy knew Takeshita could end him quickly and effectively so each pin attempt mattered. In the end, it wasn’t enough. That Beach Break on the apron did seem clumsy, just one wrinkle in a perfect fabric of a match.)
Gabe Kidd challenged Darby Allin at Worlds End
Still irate over Allin’s role in the Death Riders feud over the summer, Kidd begged of him to face him at Worlds End.
Bang Bang Gang vignette
Colten Gunn and Juice Robinson demanded that FTR agree to a Chicago Street Fight in their AEW Men’s World Tag Team Championship match at Worlds End.
Mascara Dorada defeated Roderick Strong
Dorada started out well enough, offsetting Strong’s powerhouse moveset. Overwhelmed, Strong fled to the outside, where he caught Dorada and dropped him on the apron. A Tornado-Arm Drag flung Strong across the ring, to which Dorada followed up on with a Hurricanrana, countering a backbreaker. Strong sought another backbreaker, which was successful. Dorada escaped an End of Heartache. Strong returned fire with a knee strike and a slam to the mat. Dorada finished Strong off with a Shooting Star Press from the top rope.
(Strong was entertaining here, just brutalizing Dorada when he could find an opening. Elimination from the Continental Classic must’ve hit him hard. Dorada, being 24 years old, continues to show out week after week.)
Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter interview
Statlander gave credit to Hayter for how her previous title reign ended, and urged her to give their Worlds End match all she could. Hayter swung at Statlander, who caught it and told her to bring that fire. The Brit replied that last time they were in the ring, Statlander didn’t get back up.
MJF defeated Dustin Waller
Waller, ever-so hopeful, charged at MJF but fell to the match at each turn. Disrespectfully, MJF paintbrushed Waller. Following a Hammerlock DDT, MJF tapped Waller out with a Salt of the Earth.
Post-match: Planning on addressing Hammerstein Ballroom and his Worlds End opponents, MJF was instead interrupted by Hangman Adam Page, Prince Nana, and Swerve Strickland. Page informed MJF that the no-contact rule was left in England and insulted MJF’s promo from the December 17 episode of Dynamite. He and Strickland approached to fight MJF, but the Opps Dojo cut them off. Strickland and Page nearly decapitated each other unintentionally. Samoa Joe appeared on the tron, stating he’d come for all of them. With a smirk, he requested they end the segment with a quip to send the crowd home happy. Instead, Page and Strickland beat up MJF. As Page’s chain suffocated MJF’s neck, Strickland teased him for loving the attention he gets. Strickland posited MJF as bigoted and trashy; he also mentioned MJF’s several shoot failures in AEW. Furthermore, he accused MJF of trying to tear other talents down, whereas he lifted them.
(About as quick and clean a squash as can be. Hangman dressed MJF down, though, on the microphone. Wow.)
Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) hyped each other up
Nightingale expressed her excitement for her and Cameron to fight Hyan and Maya World. She and Cameron then hyped each other and Renee Paquette up. Cameron ended the interview, informing Mercedes Mone and Athena they’d be coming for them.
Bandido defeated Ricochet
Ricochet gained an early advantage after a lockup with Bandido. Enduring Ricochet’s speed, Bandido trounced him with a hurricanrana and dropkick. Ricochet pushed Bandido down after he performed the Macarena dance. Bandido responded by smacking Ricochet’s bald head. Riccohet was sent flying courtesy of a shoulder press to the outside.
Exploiting Bandido’s weakness, Ricochet pulled his long hair to stop any momentum. Bandido swung a comeback as he flung Ricochet over his shoulder in a vertical suplex. Making use of a referee distraction, Ricochet devastated Bandido with Vertigo. Though he missed a Spirit Gun, Ricochet’s knees and kicks kept Bandido at bay. However, a poisonrana staggered him. Bandido survived a 21-plex and landed a Liger Bomb. Confident that a low blow would set him up for a Spirit Gun, Ricochet instead fell victim to a Crucifix Pin. Bandido is the new holder of the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
Post-match: Ricochet assaulted Bandido after the match as Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun approached. Brody King chased them all off and handed Bandio the ring.
(These two were perfect foils for each other. Every sneaky and arrogant move by Ricochet made every rebound from Bandido all the sweeter.)
Darby Allin’s backstage interview was interrupted by Gabe Kidd
In some grungy area, Allin was asked what his mindset was after Kidd’s earlier promo. Allin responded that he wasn’t worried. That was enough to set the Madman off, as Kidd assaulted him up and down some stairs, and against the brick wall and concrete floor.
Marina Shafir defeated Mina Shirakawa
Shirakawa wisely worked on Shafir’s knees. Shafir staggeringly sent Shirakawa outside, but she reappeared with a top rope dropkick. Focusing on arm strength, Shafir resorted to slamming Shirakawa around on the mat to regain momentum. Shirakawa battered Shafir, later cinching in a figure-four leglock. Shafir took advantage of Shirakawa’s mistake of slapping, torturing her hand. She then caught Shirakawa, suffocating her to unconsciousness with Mother’s Milk.
Post-match: Shafir pulled Shirakawa in for another Mother’s Milk. Toni Storm strutted to the ring, just to be knocked out by a kick. Shafir left through the crowd amid a sea of boos.
(Nice cerebral story there. Shafir had her legs hobbled, so she had to focus on her arms to choke out Shirakawa.)
The Elite went on break
Both Nick and Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks were taped up after their match on the December 17 episode of AEW Dynamite/Collision and would therefore be out of action. Kenny Omega, meanwhile, declared he’d be moving on to something he “should’ve done a long time ago.”
Jack Perry defeated Pac
Pac gained the upper hand after the bell with a collar and elbow tie-up. Perry earned a brief respite from Pac’s ongoing attack with a dropkick. He continued his offense with a tope suicide and an outside bulldog. In a rare move for him, Pac slid outside, baiting Perry into a knee kick and Snap Suplex. Pac’s dominance continued, most effectively seen by a missile dropkick. Perry’s resurgence would come, nevertheless, with a superkick and soon be punctuated by a Brainbuster. Running and soaring, Perry clutched a DDT at the expense of his legs.
Pac’s survival instincts kicked in, as he propelled Perry into the corner with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex. He employed an avalanche variation of the same move to thunderous effect. Reverse-hurricanrana from Perry, followed by a comebacker lariat, almost ended The Bastard. Pac withstood Perry’s rapid offense, reeling him in for a Brutalizer. Unsatisfied, Pac hit Perry with a Brutalizer, reversed by a roll-up. Another Brutalizer was ended by hand-biting. Due to a Casadora roll-up, Pac lost via pinfall.
(Talk about a subversion of expectations! Perry was the underdog, but he exceeded the threshold of Pac in some surprising maneuvers. Not too shabby. Perry doesn’t get enough credit for his constantly improving wrestling acumen.)
Final Thoughts
A great go-home show. While not mind-blowingly spectacular, the matches were compelling throughout. Bandido’s package Liger Bomb was by far one of the highlights. It’s crazy when a wrestling move is that good. As usual, the Continental Classic matches were a thing of beauty. The post-match promos from Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland following MJF’s squash match were so satisfying, given the way he’s been speaking. It felt like a receipt with some shoot implications.
