The December 16, 2025, edition of WWE NXT emanated from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL. At WWE Saturday Night Main Event XLII, NXT shone. NXT Champion Oba Femi did a great job against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, but failed to win because of Drew McIntyre.
Sol Ruca defeated NXT Alumna Bayley in a fabulous clash. TNA’s Leon Slater and Je’Von Evans lost against AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, but The Young OG and The Youngest in Charge made the show in a WWE PLE. Joe Hendry also appeared and shut The Miz up, with R-Truth’s help.

Three matches were advertised for this week’s NXT episode. Thea Hail faces Blake Monroe for the Women’s North American Championship. Fatal Influence collides with the Evolve Champion, Kendal Grey, and Wren Sinclair. Je’Von Evans cashed in his Iron Survivor Challenge win last week.
A new challenger for the NXT Championship needs to be determined for NXT New Year’s Evil 2026. Dion Lennox, TNA’s Leon Slater, Joe Hendry, and Myles Borne will face off for this opportunity. Because TNA is involved, let’s Nygma dive into what happened last night.

Thea Hail Had the Right to Believe
After making Blake Monroe tap out last week, Thea Hail had every right to believe she could become the new Women’s North American Champion. She did it; Hail shocked the NXT Universe by winning the NXT Women’s North American Championship from Blake Monroe.
The challenger immediately went for her signature Kimura Lock, but The Glamour withstood the early storm and planted her with an innovative spinning sidewalk slam. Hail hyped herself up and hit her signature backwards drop from the second rope and locked Monroe’s legs up long enough to score the win.
Ethan Page has a new Challenger, but from TNA
TNA International Champion Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Arianna Grace challenged Ethan Page and Chelsea Green for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles. TNA’s Moose arrived and told Stacks he is a lucky man, as today,” he is laser-focused on Ethan Page.” Moose sent a physical message to Ethan Page after revealing that he will challenge Page for the NXT North American Championship on the December 30 episode of NXT. Moose is poised to bring an NXT title to TNA Wrestling.
Hank & Tank Prevails
Former NXT Tag Team Champions Hank Walker and Tank Ledger returned to NXT with a bang as they took down Bronco Nima and Lucien Price. OTM looked dominant early on, crushing The Big Belly Boys after the duo hyped up the NXT Universe. Price and Nima rallied and derailed an attempt at the Honk Honk, but a heads-up move from Ledger allowed Walker to roll up Nima to score the win.
Ricky Saints Didn’t Come to Apologize to Je’Von Evans
Ricky Saints came not to apologize, but to say he is the guy who can carry any brand. He is obsessed with being number one. “So that is why I had to check Je’Von Evans,” he said. After costing The Young OG the NXT Championship last week, Saints said he had to remind him that only one guy can be at the top, and that guy is “Absolute” Ricky Saints.
Saints continued saying he could stab anyone in the back to get what he wants when he wants. He tried to be a big brother for Evans, but now, he can wait for his turn. Saints turned crazy, waffling on his greatness. Evans came outta nowhere, and a brawl erupted. Security couldn’t stop them until Saints put Evans through the announce table. Is there jealousy, as Vic Joseph noticed?
UNBELIEVABLE. 🤯@starkmanjones just put @WWEJeVonEvans through the announce desk!! pic.twitter.com/1y6zyZm6Lg
