1. Randy Orton
John Cena and Randy Orton wrestled each other so many times on PPV/PLE that it’s hard to imagine anyone would expect another name to top this list. Although they both debuted on the main roster in 2002, the first time they properly feuded was five years later, in the summer of 2007.
Their first singles match on PPV happened at SummerSlam 2007, and it was a pretty good match in front of a hot New Jersey crowd who hadn’t seen the same match a million times… yet!

To say that the SummerSlam ’07 WWE Championship bout was “only the beginning” would be the understatement of the century!
Cena and Orton had a rematch one month later at Unforgiven, and were going to wrestle again at the next PPV, No Mercy, which was cancelled due to Cena’s injury. However, just a few months later, they picked up right where they left off, with Cena’s first singles match on PPV being against Orton at No Way Out 2008. In 2009, they had four consecutive PPV singles matches.
Things did calm down in the 2010s, but they continued to meet on pay-per-view from time to time, most notably in the WWE/World Heavyweight Title Unification Match at TLC 2013.

John Cena vs Randy Orton always seemed like a back-and-forth rivalry. And, for the most part, it was. If we only take their singles matches into account, Cena has six victories while Orton has five, with Cena only scoring the tie-breaker win at Backlash 2025.
However, Cena often had the upper hand when there were more wrestlers involved, getting his hand raised in a Royal Rumble Match (2013), two Elimination Chamber Matches (2010 and 2011), two Fatal Four Way Matches (Backlash ’07 and Battleground ’14), a five-pack challenge (Vengeance: Night of Champions ’07) and an 8-man Ladder Match (Money in the Bank ’14) that also featured The Viper. While Orton also scored notable wins in this feud, we have to give the edge to John Cena, all things considered.
