The Elite Five: The Most Recent Female WWE Grand Slam Winners

  1. IYO SKY   March 3, 2025

Masami Odate began her wrestling career at the age of 16 in Japan alongside her older sister, where she rose to prominence with the ring name Io Shirai. The duo later paired with Kana (known in WWE as Asuka) to form the Triple Tails, before transitioning to wrestling in Mexico. Shirai made her North American debut on August 8, 2018, in the second Mae Young Classic, where she was defeated in the finals by Toni Storm.

Her first televised bout came for NXT on January 23, 2019, when she defeated Amber Nova and Tanea Brooks in a tag team match with Kairi Sane. Her first title match win took place on June 7, 2020, when she won the NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match at TakeOver.

“Genius of the Sky” transitioned to the WWE main roster in 2022, returning from injury with a new stage name: IYO SKY. She quickly rose through the ranks, capturing titles and gaining popularity over the next three years. SKY is the most recent Grand Slam winner in the women’s division, following her win over Rhea Ripley on Monday Night Raw on March 3, 2025, to secure the WWE SmackDown Women’s title belt.

A seven-time champion, SKY is the first wrestler to become a Grand Slam champion in both WWE and the Japanese wrestling promotion, Stardom. She is credited with one of the longest reigns in modern wrestling history, holding the Stardom World Championship for 650 days.

The WWE Women’s Grand Slam is one of the most prestigious feats in the industry. The club’s inaugural member was Bayley, who achieved the distinction on May 19, 2019. To date, only seven women have completed this legendary sweep, with Sasha Banks (now known as Mercedes Moné in AEW) rounding out the elite group.

The next superstar to join remains a major question, as both Bianca Belair and Alexa Bliss need just one more championship victory to claim their place.
