The Elite Five: The Most Recent Female WWE Grand Slam Winners

  1. Becky Lynch   September 12, 2023

Rebecca Quin took up wrestling at the age of 15 in Ireland, before making her way to Europe, Japan and Canada over the next decade. April 8, 2013, saw the announcement that she had signed with WWE with the NXT development brand, and her ring name was revealed as Becky Lynch.

Her first televised match took place on June 26, 2014, where she defeated Summer Rae. Despite widespread praise for her wrestling style, Lynch did not win a championship before being elevated to the WWE main roster on July 13, 2015, as part of Stephanie McMahon’s spotlight on the women’s division.

“The Man” made her WWE Monday Night Raw debut on July 20, 2015, teaming up with Paige in a losing effort against Sasha Banks and Naomi. Her first title win would come on September 11, 2016, when she became the inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion, defeating Carmella at Backlash.

Almost seven years to the day, Lynch would become the sixth female Grand Slam Champion by defeating Tiffany Stratton for the NXT championship on September 12, 2023.

Recognized by Sports Illustrated earlier this year as the greatest WWE women’s wrestler of all time, Lynch is an 11-time champion and has the distinction of being the longest reigning WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion at 163 days, as well as the oldest at the age of 38.
