It’s not very often that a team winds up on the losing end and still walks away the winners. It’s hard to outshine the winning team in a match, but that’s exactly what Team Austin did at the 2003 Survivor Series.
This was the ultimate babyface team, and they started working from behind. As each member was eliminated, the sympathy for the faces grew. It was a heroic uphill climb that ended with one of Shawn Michaels’ greatest performances. When HBK was pinned, you could feel the crowd’s heart breaking. It was a memorable underdog performance from five of the best.
