Did WWE Plant the Seeds for WrestleMania 42 this Past RAW in MSG?

WWE RAW at Madison Square Garden delivered key moments that may signal WWE’s direction for WrestleMania season. RAW recently saw a championship change hands and plenty of returns. It may be early to predict WrestleMania, but clear signs already imply upcoming feuds. Here are some possibilities that could happen at WrestleMania 42.

Becky Lynch Losing the Women’s Intercontinental Title; Leading Her to a Bigger Story?

Since the summer, Becky Lynch had stood on a dominant reign as Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Unfortunately for Lynch, she dropped the title to Maxxine Dupri due to interference from AJ Lee. After Becky wraps up her rivalry with AJ, she could head back to the Women’s World Title picture.

Becky Lynch and AJ Lee’s rivalry could stretch a little bit towards the Royal Rumble. Afterwards, Becky can set her sights on becoming champion again. In doing so, Becky could qualify for the Elimination Chamber Match and win the whole thing. Becky going against the possible current champion, Stephanie Vaquer, would be a first-time ever matchup. Becky would also come across as another opponent for Stephanie to compete against.

Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio Colliding Course on the Horizon?

Last week on RAW, Rey Mysterio returned to confront his son, Dominik, who claimed he’s the greatest luchador. Rey took that claim as disrespect to all the luchadores who paved the way. Instead of a one-on-one match at WrestleMania, WWE may go on a route similar to WrestleMania 40.

This time, Rey and Dominik could be on opposing teams. Dominik can team up with Los Grande Americanos, including Chad Gable, the original El Grande Americano. The story of defeating legendary luchadores started off with Gable’s frustrations of not defeating Penta. A potential story between the two teams can go somewhere.

For WrestleMania, it could be Dominik teaming with Los Grande Americanos against the team of Rey Mysterio, Penta, Rey Fénix, and Dragon Lee. WWE can make it a Five on Five Elimination Match where the losing team must unmask themselves.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns WrestleMania Trilogy?

When Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns encountered each other on RAW, WWE might have revealed that these two have unfinished business. Some may argue this match isn’t a trilogy. Although Lesnar and Roman had their match at WrestleMania 31, the match turned into a triple threat, involving Seth Rollins.

After two years, their interaction involved a brawl with Roman fighting off Brock. Since Paul Heyman betrayed Roman Reigns and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41, both men have been wanting their revenge on him.

WWE might have Lesnar and Reigns go at it once again at WrestleMania 42 for a championship, but this time for the World Heavyweight. For that to occur, CM Punk could drop the title to Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. Since Heyman feels that now is not the time for Breakker to be champion, he may want Brock to hold the title.

Reigns and Lesnar having a match set up for WrestleMania can start with Reigns winning the Royal Rumble, thus choosing to challenge Lesnar or Cody Rhodes. Reigns can choose Lesnar instead of Cody since Reigns still needs his justified revenge on Paul Heyman and the rest of his group towards WrestleMania.

There is also so much history to be revisited for Reigns and Lesnar. Now that Heyman reunited with Lesnar, the story against Roman could end that way since Heyman and Lesnar were aligned with each other at the start of Lesnar and Reigns’ initial feud.
